Same here. Got it and have no idea who the sender is in RL. Looks like a 'compromised' account possibly ?

She obviously used her real name " in her registration, it is publicly available to every other member (I guess she doesnt/didnt realize that). (I have deleted the name here, for although what you say is true, best not repeat the name here. (delicate situation which I think Soner has now resolved.)

Got the same message too! Was very confused I'm glad I'm not the only one who received this. And yes her name is visible in her profile anyway

I had the same email which was supposed to go to Owl Lady. I've done a very curt reply saying this person "Heather on the Hill" has got it wrong, replied back and now have received an email from someone else saying they don't know what I am on about. Clearly something has gone wrong on the messaging side. But just for the record I don't know what the original posted of the email is on about, not guilty!

Me too. Seems it was addressed to Owl Lady and Kibkom Group. The latter looks to be all members of the forum. Either a mistake by the original poster or something wrong with the PM system.

Just checked PM system. Appears that when composing a message KibKom Group is set as default and you can't seem to remove it. Woops. Suggest no one sends PM messages until this is remedied, or you want the world to know.

OKAY glad to know I was not the only one to get this stupid private message. I haven even logged on since Dec. hmmmmm

Glad not just me. I have had one from owl lady as described and then one from mickron in reply.

I also got it and suggested that this lady contact Soner and explain what has happened.

How does she think she can remain anonymous when her name is in her profile?

Must be a glitch though when messages addressed to a specific person go to several other people instead!

I found it very disturbing!!

I had this message this morning when I logged on.Suggested contacting forum admin.

I had the same messages last night about 12.40pm.
One was off heather on the hill which was suppose to go to owl lady.
The other was from somebody else saying I don't know what your on about like confused.
Weird message!
Is owl lady aware of this message that is direct for her?

Looking back at my inbox messages, the one from heather on the hill looks like she sent it as a kibkom
Group message to all members. Normally it shows just somebody's name but my message shows (owl lady kibkom group)

I receive 2 as well, somebody is playing tricks and being very stupid. I hope the moderators get to the bottom of this.

Kind of happy I'm not the only one to receive these pms but agree , the mods need to sort this, I found them quite intimidating

I also got it, but just put it down to a "nutter" as it had been sent to everyone. I also got a similar one a couple of weeks ago. Bit like the strange texts I get from unknown numbers in the night, now I just turn my phone off when I go to bed and delete in the morning. All this technology affects some people's brains.!!!

Annat, I received a message from you about dogs a few weeks ago, I replied back to say I was not the person you meant, and now I have had the Heather message so all very weird, I rarely post on here

Apologies for the spam. This is the second time a member has accidentally sent a PM out to all/most members of Kibkom. I thought I had rectified the problem the last time but obviously not. I have now.again made changes to the PM section and members should not be able to send PM's to Multiple users or groups. Hope this is the last.
Once again I apologise for the spam and am sure it was a genuine mistake by the member.

That again to you (have also written on other thread).; Have now deleted the name reference from both sets of threads, and Soner ha s now dealt with it.l

I am a bit miffed really that I never got a message. Had I done so I would have pickedup opn it.

As I said elsewhere, modern technology is a bit like the tale of the child with a curl on its forehead 'When it is good, it is very, verygood,l but when it is bad, it is horrid'.
