I'm furious about this. Please rectify. I have never done what I'm being accused of and would like an apology from someone and I don't care who it's from!!!

Hi,
Apologies for the spam. This is the second time a member has accidentally sent a PM out to all/most members of Kibkom. I thought I had rectified the problem the last time but obviously not. I have now.again made changes to the PM section and members should not be able to send PM's to Multiple users or groups. Hope this is the last.
Once again I apologise for the spam and am sure it was a genuine mistake by the member.

I also got a message as such from "Heather on The Hill" - who must have registered as a member! People may not wish to expose their true ID in a public forum for whatever reason and I respect that. BUT the form administrators must have some extra info about the members so that they cannot abuse the system. If anyone does not like it then so be it.
Wishing to keep secret one's true ID from the from owner/administrator can only mean bed intentions - or else, why would you want to be a non-existent entity?
One must also take into consideration that this forum is addressing people who live in a very small, closely knit community, where most people would not mind exposing their true identities with fellow participants if it becomes necessary for a social or a business event. The alternative is, people providing few hours old email addresses and creating false IDs with a chance of using offensive and abusive language or attitudes towards other forum users. OR endlessly and falsely praising or promoting their own business, boring users to death - examples of which I had come across before!
I think an ID check would make this forum even more pleasant than it already is, discouraging any possible misuse or offensive behaviour towards anyone at all times.

it was a simple error it seems, I cannot understand people being so concerned about it but that doesn't mean that they are not of course. Hopefully Soner has made it less likely to happen again.

Some members prefer to be anonymous which is fine by me. They may have had bad experiences on other forums. On Kibkom if members are out of place and deliberately cause trouble they are instantly banned along with their IP address.

I received one too and happy to read it's an error and not a virus which is why we were all concerned....opening anything that your not familiar with is a concern these days and can cost you a fortune to put right. Quite understand your concerns. Glad it's sorted!!

Today I received two messages as described earlier. I note that it seems to be some sort of 'hacking' into the forum but will look forward to an explanation as to how both arose in the first place.

I have also received a message today from a user that I do not know stating;
"I Dont know who you are but I am very upset you appear to know me and used my real name. Forums are designed to enable people to use nicknames if they do not want to use their own. I have good reasons for not wishing to use mine, which I have reason not to explain in public. Who are you and why do you wish to harm me?"
I don't have a clue who HEATHER ON THE HILL is or what the message is about

Yep, I got te same two as well from the same two people. Have replied to them both before I read all this above so just wonder who will get them next? Must be a glitch in the system I guess so will just ignore anymore that I get - unless of course they come with the standard statement of me having just won £1,000,000.00 on the state lottery, in that case I will send off all my bank details and addresses like normal - yeah!!!!!
So rich now from collecting all the money from the African widows banks I can afford to take the risk - lol.
Be calm, apply common sence, stop worrying - nobody cares who you are anyway.

This is message I posted earlier:

You may receive message late as there were a lot that went out and a delay on system. PLease ignore the 2 messages, it really was not intend to any one of you and was a genuine mistake. It should not happen again.
