Vaguely remember reading on a forum about getting a Police Check (think its a CRB) here to save time when going back to U.K to work. Can anyone point me in right direction please ?

You say back to the UK to work. If you are a UK citizen why would you need a police check? If you are in one of those jobs such as childcare etc your future employer may want to carry it out any way as part of their due diligence. In UK I had full blown CRB for emergency services but needed another for teaching youth groups to dive. Neither would accept the other though it may be different here.

Have found info needed thank you. If going back to U.K to work with children or in care sector when you have been away for more than a year have to have a police check from here too.
Just need to go to Police station in Girne & they will provide relevant paper work in English.

That is interesting and understandable. Something one may not have thought of, and although the U.K could ask, it is probably much easier from here . Very useful info. Thanks for posing the question.

Maybe we should put that in KibKom Times. Might help someone!
