Speeding fines

I've had 14 contested speeding fine cases against me dropped by a judge at the court in Girne today. The cases relate to June 2011-October 2011, when I was driving a GB registered car. The police had no evidence against me: they failed to produce any original photos (I had previously refused to go to Lefkosa to see the alleged photos, let alone pay money to see them!), and surprise surprise, there were no calibration reports essential to show that the speed cameras record the correct speed of vehicles. The tickets that I had been issued had also been signed by the traffic policeman (not by me!), to say that I had accepted the fines, which I had definitely NOT done!

I'm rather proud of the fact that I achieved this without the services of a lawyer, and over a mere 4 court appearances.

Lol but saying that alot of police, government workers & doctors (important people) don't understand English let alone speak. Now what would holiday makers do if needed to speak to important people?
With us that are living here do try to speak some Turkish but it would be nice for them them to meet us half way.

I was lucky that the prosecuting barrister spoke good English. I am learning Turkish, but am a long way from legal arguments in court!
