I agree the band were good exccept - the sound mixer did a dreadful mix on the first half - couldn't hear the bands voices. Also to start changing the lighting 10 mins before show start is a big no no - that should have been sorted in rehearsals and sound check - before you start I have worked on many concerts and lit them all around the world so I know what I am talking about.

An excellent nights entertainment, maybe this will be the impetous that entertainment companies need to get class acts to come and perform at the Amphitheatre which is an under utilised but superb venue.
As for the glitches, the poor guy scrambling around at the top of the lighting gantry with no safety harness etc got a well deserved round of applause when he slid down the last part of the scaffold. And he knew how to milk it as well!!!
Well done to the organisers and a huge thank you to the group coming to perform in TRNC.

Fabulous and the hot chips were welcome too. Very efficient at the Bufe. I was impressed.
Superb venue - I would love to see a classical concert piano or orchestra play here.
A big well done to the group, the production team and the staff at the amphitheatre for making it a very enjoyable night out.

It was a great night out, but I have to agree with the sound comments, there was too much bass for my liking in certain songs, my hubby could feel the thumping in his chest, we were however sat close to the stage. It was our first time at the ampi and thought it was a great venue. They do need more toilet facilities, for a venue this size. Well worth the money though, we had a good dance and sing a long. Another comment I have is that the ticket stated 7 start and so we rushed to be there for 7 and it didnt start till past 8. The tickets should state doors open at 7 concert begins at 8 or what ever.

lor51,
On the concert start time, all the ads and tickets stated - doors open at 7, start 7.30. In TRNC nothing ever seems to start on time that is why people were still arriving after 8.
You now also know why many people were sat at the rear when you arrived!! lol We have been several times now and have our chosen area for sitting, obviously need to be early though for that.
There are several concerts coming up as part of the Girne Festival, most are Turkish artists and we are asking our Turkish friends which we may enjoy but do not forget ASWAD on 24th June.

For me it was jolly good value for the price.
First visit to the amphitheatre , everything very well organised. Loos were clean etc.
Looking forward ASWAD.
Well done Girne Belediyesi - a beautiful amphitheatre.

They did very well to get it tidy and clean in time.
It is a shame that some people could not be bothered to take their rubbish up to the top bins, which we did, I hasten to add.
It doesn`t take much , does it and helps the staff keep it in the condition we would wish to find it. IMHO
But great concert none the less.

Really fantastic performance and spectacular venue.
But very disappointed with the sound and the later than advertised start time, waited over an hour with a very bored 5 year old!

A question and an answer! Firstly, just who WERE the organisers of Mamma Mia, and the answer is that I heard the next event is at the kyubele Restaurant and is The Stars of Bellapais. Shows are mentioned but not the names of any artistes, and I think a 5 course meal is involved or some such. I had a leaflet, but can't find it.

The Turkish Band on the 1st of July is one of my favourites, they are call MFO, They are an older band, hard to discride their style sort of Turkish Modern folk.??!! maybe Soner can help on that one. But it will be a great night.
I even had on of their songs played at my wedding!
