Street Lighting

I've only just noticed on our electricity bill that we have a 13-14YTL charge per month for street lighting.
We don't have any lighting, not even any lighting posts. Apart from some lighting posts at a small development of houses about 700 metres away, we are in complete darkness.
Should I have to pay for this?if I'm expected to pay then that's, fine as long as we get some lighting?
Any help please?

Yes but you most probably go out at night & use roads that do have lights! You are also paying for street lighting with your water bill as this has always been collected by the councils but not passed on to Kibtek of course there were no reductions when Kibtek added it to their bills.

Why is this in the "Sales" section - are you guys selling street lighting? If you are and it works - because mine has not worked for the past 8 months - I would be happy to buy some off you!!!
Two phone calls a week for eight months and the only reply I get is that "We don't know where you live" - bet if I stop paying my electric bill they will find my meter fast enough.

We paid for street lighting and having bins emptied for 7 and half years years, but had neither. The reason given by Alsancak Belediye was that we were paying for lights on the main Lapta - Girne road and the bins on the sides of roads that we used. After 8 years we now have both (plus half a tarmac road, which was promised for 9 years) Don't even ask why the only went half way, despite being given the money from Turkey to do it all!!
