Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can help. I have just logged onto the overseas passport application website as I need to renew mine and am not sure how to proceed. It seems there is a new online application in place. You have to select which country or territory you are in. There is no option for Northern Cyprus, however if I select Cyprus you continue to complete your application online. However, if I enter Turkey I have to print out an application to be filled out in hand and sent off. Can anyone advise how I should proceed as a return address needs to be given for the passport to be sent to as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks.

I have just done mine, you live in Cyprus...It looked a bit complicated but once you start it is simple to complete and you dont need to get your photos verified anymore. I posted mine by registered mail from south nicosia for speed.

Off topic yes....Just a small word of warning re where you announce you live. The DVLA is now invoking the EU instruction that says you cannot have a UK driving licence if you live permanently abroad. - I switched my UK address to that of my son-in-law at licence renewal time, after some ~(inside) assistance and subsequently helped a couple of other people having similar trouble to get their licence reinstated. However, two people on the forums who contacted me recently, told the DVLA that they were moving abroad, and despite going to appeal on the matter, at a later date they were refused a UK driving licence....Unless they could provide proof of Uk residence of more than 6 months in the current year....eg rent book, utility bills, council tax etc etc.
I can quote the EU regulations chapter and verse and the amendments to the clauses are quite definite, regardless of whether a TC issued licence is accepted by the South, or not.
So, why does it matter ? Well, the South MOT office / insurance booth recently declined to accept a TC licence in the possession of a UK ex-pat. - me.
