Karin, a qualified fitness instructor, is holding body conditioning classes *every Wednesday at 9am at Windy Hill in Esentepe. It costs 5TL for the 45 minute class and this money goes to the venue, Karin doesn't charge. Great way to get in shape for this Summer.
*now every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday at 9am.
***No classes on Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th April.

I'm quite interested but not quite sure what body conditioning means although I definitely need it! Is it aerobics or something less energetic like Pilates?

It's not aerobics but has some exercises you will find in Pilates. The aim is to tone the whole body and there are exercises for the upper body using weights, if and when you feel able and floor exercises concentrating on lower body/abdominal toning. It kicks off with warm up exercises and finishes with stretching and you will know that you have had a workout. You are encouraged only to do what you feel comfortable with and not to overdo it. Why not come along and give it a go, if I can do it anyone can...

Forgot to say, that you will need some kind of mat - a sunbed cushion is ideal. Don't worry about weights as you can use 500ml water bottles filled with sand and they usually have a supply at Windy Hill. Also you should bring some water to drink.

Just an update that the classes are now running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Windy Hill in Esentepe starting at 10am. Windy Hill kindly provide a cup of tea or coffee or a bottle of water following the class included in the 5TL price. Currently, Tuesdays are quieter than the other days.

Hi, I will, hopefully, be moving to the Turtle Bay area in the near future and badly need the old body conditioned.
I do not have transport and the buses apparently are few.
How much of a walk is it from Turtle Bay to Esentepe?

Hi Blue Butterfly,
It is a long walk and you need all your strength for the class... I will ask around and see if there is anyone who could give you a lift. The next class is Wednesday so I won't be able to get back to you until after then.
Here is a link to a website with useful info, including the bus timetable, about Esentepe
