1. Weekend and holiday cover urgently needed for the Rescue Centre. Hours are 8am to 4pm and training will be given. Must be an animal lover and be prepared to get rather dirty. However the job is extremely rewarding and the dogs and cats will be most grateful. Transport is available from Karakum. For further information please phone 0533 869 4098 OR 0533 863 1950

2. Softies for the dogs, cats and puppies. Have you any old blankets, towels, jumpers - basically anything we can use as bedding for the animals. If you have anything, please drop them into our office in Karakum (open 9am to 5pm)

Has anyone from KAR contacted the hotels to see if they would donate used towels, duvets, sheets etc.

I'm sure they must have to renew them on a fairly regular basis?

Thanks mozgor. I once tried doing that for bed linen and towels for Lapta Old People Home and got the thumbs down everywhere I went. I suspect they would be even less generous if they thought stuff was going to an animal rescue centre. If you have any contacts though I'd be pleased to pass them on to KAR, you never know, they might like the publicity they would get.
