any agent in the UK or Cyprus can help with flight, or you can do it yourself
use

I always book Turkish Airlines on-line. It may look dearer but when you look at what you get, it isn't. I've been flying back and forth since 2003. Sometimes with the now defunct KTHY, now exclusively with Turkish Airlines. Pick your seat, your meal, print your boarding pass and (no extra charge if you don't) and all on-board drinks are free. No extra charge for luggage, 20kg in hold, 8kg in cabin. Only snag with booking on-line is you can't book exit seats.

Turkish Airlines allow you 30kg

UK to Ercan is normally 20kg, the 30kg is other flights or business class. Having said that, my daughter flies over in a couple of weeks and has a 23kg alowance.
I use Turkish Airlines and in my experience they are excellent.

Would that T.A fly into Stansted. We have to use Pegasus and have no problem with them, but all the extras!! Everything other than a penny for the loo.

I know what you mean Sophie. I used to always have to fly Edinburgh/Stansted/Ercan but now can fly TA from Edinburgh to Ercan - no comparison to Pegasus really. However I see that TA do also fly to Ercan from Gatwick and Heathrow.

Just for your info they also fly out of Birmingham, we have used them before and are going to again this year. When you do the math's they are hard to beat as long as you don't mind a change of aircraft at Istanbul.

My mistake Mountain Edge.
I usually fly Turkish Airlines from Germany, which does have an allowance of 30kg.

Apart from the baggage allowance with TA + seat allocation + food and free drinks and lovely staff - Pegasus have no comparison and the price is really close VFM.

We use Turkish Airlines from Birmingham, have also flown from Manchester with them.
If you are a golfer, golf clubs are no extra charge.
Good service, have never had any problems and time transfer at Istanbul ok.

As an alternative, I always use Monarch.
Cheap and cheerful, flights from and to Manchester.
Car parking at jet parks Manchester.
They fly to Larnaca, it's easy to get picked up and taken to the north using taxi as transfer.
Just another choice

Grockle > "Turkish Airlines allow you 30kg"
Not if you fly economy they don't. It used to be 25kg but went down to 20kg about 6 years ago.

Bogaz 58 sez "When you do the math's they are hard to beat as long as you don't mind a change of aircraft at Istanbul."
Try to get a transfer time of around an hour, Istanbul airport can empty the wallet quicker than an ex-wife,

I have several TK flight tickets in front of me for flights booked for either myself or Hubby this summer.
Economy flights ECN (Ercan) / LGW (Gatwick) 23 kilos
Business class ECN/LGW 30 kilos or if you have Elite plus Miles n Smiles membership 40 kilos.

Got back from NC on Sunday with Turkish airlines, baggage allowance was 23kg, one case was 25kg and one 24.50kg no problem they just went through check in. Going out we had 1hr to change flight at Istanbul we did it in 1/2hr coming back 2hr to change, the flight from Ercan left 10mins early so no problem there, the flight to Manchester took 3.1/2 hrs instead of 4, so all in all a really good flight.

I was almost the same as Woodspeckie - came in a few days ago from Edinburgh - left Edinburgh early and also arrived early in Istanbul. No problem with 1 hour transfer to catch the Ercan flight.
All in all , I find TA really good value for money and helpful staff.

I could not agree more. I flew back 4 weeks ago Business with my Elite Air Miles card. Should have been 40 Kilos, I had nearly 50kilos, no problems. Being an ex pilot, I think it will depend on load of the particular flight and take off weight taken into consideration. My flight back was only 50% full.
Pegasus are the worst, you get charged for an extra kilo! especially if starting from Stansted. But weight = fuel. Fuel = money.
