Good morning Helenj,
I'm pretty sure that you can.
Steve Dickenson, Trevor Hughes, and most banks do household insurance.
I'm quite sure that you'll get a few responses, ie, telephone numbers during the day.
Good luck.

To the best of my knowledge all insurance companies (and most of the banks) insure properties when unoccupied. We have loads of friends who are "swallows" and their properties are insured when they are back in the UK for months at a time. Out nexr door neighbours are insured and they only come out here for about 5 weeks a year.
