If I was to buy a fully loaded Android box from the UK would it work here in TRNC. It's probably a stupid question but I really do not understand how these things work, any advice would be most welcome.

It must be contagious as we got so many of them here in Cyprus (only joke intended)

Here is a short answer:
An android box is like a computer, but unlike a laptop with its own monitor and a desktop where you use a seperate monitor to connect it to, android boxes are designed to connect to television.

Box in its native form comes with few properties, such as internet browsing, few games maybe etc (different android boxes may come with some stuff pre-installed)

just like you would install seperate software to your windows machine, you may want to install some extra programs to your android box.

Some of those you would probably want there is bbc iplayer app, filmon app for free tv viewing. NTV is also available through xbmc (both Multimax free and paid versions)

An android box is certainly a better choice if you like to watch some Internet tv on your television set and obvious more sensible to connect to your TV than your 500gbp laptop all the time. Plus you get the freedom of a remote control etc...

They are not out of the box magical boxes however, and require some tinkering and configuration. So if you barely know more than just pressing the power button (no disrespect), you are advised to get some help at least during the initial configuration stage...

Hope this you find helpful.

In my day Androids were the human looking robots on Star Trek.
