ntv, is it only me!!!

In the morning when I like many others like to watch the news on TV, there's problems with the system. Today (Friday 28th) I have no picture just a blank screen on all channels, same problem on my laptop so it must be a NTV issue I assume.
Nobody online at NTV (again) so I can't ask if theres a problem with the service at their end, but then again, when I've inquired in the past if there was an issue the reply came back; that the service was working ok with no problems. But my NTV service was like today not working or watchable!!!! This then begs the question, who do I then ask why the service is not working.

But what REALLY is p****** me off is only yesterday I renewed my NTV subscription online (I must like being kicked in the ****).

Not only you, mines not working either. It is annoying that there never seems to be anyone on line when there's a problem.

Same with us, only channel working is channel 4, no playback on itv for a while although bbc have playback (catch up) fed up with trying to contact them and no support on line aaaargh!!! It's great when it's working but just lately it hasn't been!! Come on NTV GIVE US SOME SUPPORT PLEASE,,

Anyone raised a ticket with NTV?

Mine was off but back on now. It is an internet TV channel that is "unofficial" for want of a better word, there are always going to be minor hiccups which is apparently what this was.

It has been suggested that maybe my new subscription had not been logged into my NTV account, and my service cancelled. But I looked at my NTV account right after paying online, and yes it had registered OK. But would you believe it, it had started to count down on the allotted new time even though I still had 2 day's to run on my previous subscription. There's was nobody on the NTV Live Support to report this matter to so I sent am email with my complaint. Still waiting for a response back from them (won't hold my breath on that one), and yes both NTV Time Left clocks arer still running down!!!!!

So beware!!! if your are thinking of payment online. And do it with just minutes left on your account or you might loss any time you might still have left.

For the record, NTV service now back on

Hi. I have been told that there was small downtime this morning which has now been fixed. NTV would like to say sorry for this downtime.

In regard to renewing an NTV subscription online, if you add a new subscription then yes it will run concurrently with any existing subscriptions. However if you find thew details of your existing subscription in the 'my account' section and then use the 'extend' option this will add time to the end of the existing subscription. However if your current subscription is the 'UK Full' package you will not be able to extend this subscription as the UK Full package has been discontinued and replaced with 'UK Premium'. In this case you will need to wait until the subscription has ended and then add a new subscription for 'UK Premium', which can then be extended as and when needed. Hope this makes some sense.

Erolz, thanks for the detailed explanation regarding the renewal of NTV subscription online, and as always on the ball and quick to respond. I only wish I had been made aware of this when I made my inquiry regarding payment online.
But having said that, now that the details are out there for all subscribers to see on the forum hopefully you shouldn't see anymore posts regarding this matter.

Thanks Erol, NTV has been working well for me today and the catchup on ITV has been available too........one question, how can I pay for my renewal if I don't hold a card?

I have been suffering with NTV since January. I posted a ticket and did receive the courtesy of a reply from NTV as a result which reads "

We are sorry to hear such feedback.
NTV provides live chat support and email support, but no telephone support since 4 months, as we find issues easier to track using our CRM system. We have carefully analyzed the dates and times when your reception issues were taking place and did not find out any records of bad activity on our servers or similar complaints. However, the nature of IPTV system is like this - it's dependand from many factors - internet speed and stability on the customer's end as well as on our end, connectivity to certain locations, etc. Any problem with any of these factors may spoil your experience and we are trying to get everything as stable as possible. We can confirm that since the middle of December we have been performing very well worldwide (as most of our customer base is outside Cyprus) and we have very few issues in general both in Cyprus and outside. We find your issue rather strange and we will investigate it together with our technical team. We highly appreciate the fact that you have been with us for almost 1 year and we do not wish under any circumstances to lose a valued customer"

My main problem is that NTV fragments, goes blank or shows connection problem.....meaning I very rarely get to see the end of many programs but the annoying thing its on a regular basis. Everyday we have interrupted viewing especially between 6 pm and 10 pm and hopefully NTV are looking into it because this shouldn't happen this frequently. I have missed my live football and the Voice for the last two Saturdays so am just preparing mentally for another night of disappointment (a pleasant surprise would be wonderful.....mmmm)

Finally, I now submit a ticket every time I lose NTV and maybe thats the way to go but do check the ticket appears on the status list..... many of mine are not listed or shown. Hopefully as NTV has very few issues in Cyprus, they must have the resources to fix them properly........... I really hope so
