We would like to participate in this, but can you explain why is it on the same day as the Esentepe Fun Run? Makes things a lot more complicated.

@Barbieb, it would be easier to comprehend for the rest of us if you can explain what is it that you are reading that feels wrong...

kbasat,
I would think that Barbieb is reading it as you and in amazement that it is on the same day as the Esentepe Fun Run, same as us!!!!
Well we won't be going to the Lapta Dog Show as we have committed to the Esentepe Fun Run back in Nov 2013 when it was first announced.
Crazy!

This place does get a bit on overload with activities but I am sure there are enough people to support both events. Hopefully there are few people that would want to support both. And for those who are going to the Fun Run, and would have liked to go to the Dog Show just remember that there is the Dog Show in Baris Park on Sunday 27th April. The Fun Dog Show is part of Lapta Festival.
Some week-ends there is just too much, but due to the size of the population they all seem to do well. And I am sure with all the extra events that the Fun Run is putting on, hopefully they will not suffer financially, plus of ocurse one can always pay to stay away (make a donation to Tulips!)

Marion's
Proceeds from "The Fun Run"(regardless of other associated events) represents 80% of the money raised by the "The Fun Run"committee who incidentlry have been working tirelessly since June 2013.This work includes gaining support and sponsorship from local business's who thankfully will be giving up their free time on the 6th April not only to sponsor the event but to actively take part.
Your suggestion that people could always pay to stay away is less than helpful and disappointing to those who have organised the" Fun Run " to those who are intending to participate and to Tulips .
"The Fun Run "is Tulips largest annual fund raiser and it's success is vital to Tulips raising 108'000 lire per month that they need just to survive. In our experience people will pay money to take part in the event but will not pay to stay away.
The date of the" Fun Run"was advertised in November of last year and it's unfortunate that other events should class with this .

I'm also sure that Barbie is amazed that the two events are on the same day. I know she is doing the Tulips fun run that she has been practicing for, but also her dog Missie would give Ice a run for the cutest smile competition (if there is one). Sorry Missie I'd have to go with Ice for the best smile, but you would come second. I think there will be a lot of disappointed people that day.

Just trying to find a way to extra monies for Tulips, as I believe the money required is more than 108,000 but nearer to160,000 and that poor Raziye is tearing around to get money in order to pay staff.
However, any argument as to why the dog show is the same day must be made with Lapta Belediye who are the ones responsible for putting the dog show on that day, and maybe a discussion with KAR as to why they allowed.
Everyone appreciates how important money is for Tulips, and they have to make their choices as to what they support and how. As I said before, this place is getting more and more a case of double events on the same day, and most of them are for charities. And of ocurse, each charity feels it has its own importance.

Just shows you can't do right for doing wrong sometimes doesn't it? KAR were asked by the Lapta Belediye to run the Lapta Fun Dog Show last year as part of their Tourism Festival and the same goes for this year. KAR were not given a choice of dates. I don't consider KAR to be crazy, and perhaps some of you should think more lateral and ask for an explanation before being so critical.

Obv no need for any criticism, and I am sure nobody means it as such. I guess its just that there will be some people that are disappointed of the unfortunate coincidence that it clashes with another major event.

The date is still to be confirmed by Girne Belediye but HOPEFULLY KAR will be holding their official Dog Show i.e. PAWS IN THE PARK on 27th April. As you can see, again KAR realy does not have any choice of either venue or date.

If I remember correctly a couple of years ago Brian Thomas arranged a meeting with all charities. The idea was to advise what dates event were scheduled for each charity. Even after all that KAR and the Credit West Treasure Hunt were on the same day.

A similar meeting was held this year, perhaps Brian would come on the forum and tell everyone the number of charities who were invited and the number who attended. I know the answer but it would be handy if Brian were to tell you himself.

#This thread could get out of hand, so I am locking it. The important information is contained in the first posting and if anyone is interested then they can contact KAR for a stall or further info.
Hope everyone enjoys whatever event they end up supporting. All worthy causes.
