Hi all and welcome to the Kibkom Forum.
I would like to start by saying a big thank you for all your support in trying to get this forum off the ground. I would, hence, like to donate 1TL for every New Topic posted (each Topic posted must have atleast 2 replies) , from now until the 8th May 2001, to a nominated TRNC charity. There has to date been 20 topics posted so far with 2 or more replies, adding 20TL to the pot.
This is how it will work
Member can nominate a TRNC charity within this post (Reply), over the next 2 weeks. Last nomination must be in by end of 21st April 2012.
I will then set up a poll for the list of nominated charities, of which members will be able to vote for, up until the 30th April 2012.
The charity with the most votes will receive the donation that has accumulated over the above set period, on Sat 7th July 2012.
Please read the forum rules and keep to them. (gulp)
Nominations are now OPEN!

Oh dear. so many charities here, all very much in need, and I love them all! But for today, I feel that Tulips is doing O.K (aren't you girls?), 112 is going strong with a Ball coming up; children in need is doing well and hem lping so many; Cheshire Homes got 42,000TL from Festival 11 last year; so my vote for charities has to be the Kemal Saracoglu Foundation which helps 40 kids and their families all coping with cancer. Due to a bit of a hiccup in the system some concerts which were to be organised solely for KSF have not come about, so, my vote is for them.
Tamam?

Hi . I think it is about time the less 'fashionable' charities had some help. I agree with Marions, my vote goes to the Kemal Saracoglu foundation. A big thank you to you Suner, for the kind gesture.

Im with Marion, share it round a bit, there does seem to be the same Charity"s in the forfront, not that against that and try to always try to help out, but give the not so well known a chance.

I would to nominate Kanser Hastalarina Yardim Dernegi/Help Those With Cancer Association. Founded 1993. we have the 5 th highest cancer rate per population in the world. 15 new cases are being diagnosed on average per week, at least one of which is from the Ex-Pat community. The Aims of the Association To improve the lives of everyone living with cancer, To raise awareness of cancer in the TRNC. To strive for better cancer care in the TRNC.
In the last 3 months alone the Association has paid out more than 130,000TL to the Ex-pat community.
The Association provides practical support, financial support if possible and perhaps most importantly social and psychological support.
They need us to help them to support sufferers and theirs families, regardless of race or creed.

Nice one Soner.
I have made a new posting in the hope that little Ismail may get some help for his new arm. He's a little fighter and has been through so much in his short life. He has a small band of supporters behind him all the way and they all try hard. Well done to them all.

Come on members, I total the pot at 58TL only so far. You can do better than that, I expect to donate much much more than that, but it's down to you. Get your friends to register and join in to make that pot overflow with cash. (erm..maybe not overflow but reasonably full... gulp).

Well done Soner for a great and very thoughtful gesture.
My vote goes with Marions as well.
All charities are excellent and perhaps every 3 or 6 months a different charity could benefit.

Thank you Mel7348 in msg 10 for your support.
Working as a volunteer for Help Those With Cancer Association, of course I am going to nominate them but I also like Meggymoo's idea of changing the charity every so often so that all can benefit from this generous offer.

Hi Mel7348, could not make any connection myself, but will keep an eye that we do not have these problems - my moderators will also act on posts that may do damage to the forum or cause a stir with members.
Thank you for your concern, much appreciated.

Soner, issues only become sensetive when 'they' involve ME in it with no right.I do not have the manifesto that I have for nothing nor I beleive. And to top it up,when I reply to message that has accused me of something I know nothing nor interested to know anything about it,my replies get deleted, twice, while the mentined message still exists.
Either delete and then investigate or let the other person defend.
We have a mutual friend if you want to know anything about me.We've known each other since I was 13.I'm now 48.

Hi Salahi, I do not wish to offend anybody nor will I judge character through what is posted on a forum. We are all individuals and have our own opinions, sometimes we may agree or disagree on situations. I do not want this forum to end up becoming a battlefield nor do I wish for me to start wasting time investigating problems that may occur on the forum due to differences of opinion. So - inorder to try and keep the peace on the forum I will delete messages I think may create a stir and drag on until abuse starts to kick in. As mentioned, message was deleted late due to not remembering where it was in the first place and being constantly side-tracked with all the work I have on.
I hope there are no ill feelings and you all continue to contribute and make good use of information posted on this forum.
Regards,

As Marion, I wote for KSF, Lefkoşa and the 40 children wıth cancer.
Where I come from hospital clowns are widely used to cheer up very ill children, and at the same time the children often have cakes and juice, if they can, while enjoying the clowns, having a good laugh. If KSF is running with the 'pot', I would be happy to pay for the intertainment by a couple of clowns (hmm)

Hey Banjo - i like the 'tune' you play. You are on! If the vote is for KSF, i will make sure that the kids have some clowns in their lives. The KSF periodically arranges 'parties' and events for the children and their families, and this would be a great addition.
I agree with you entirely, it is said that laughter is the best medicine, so 'make 'em laugh, make 'em laugh, make 'em laugh. ' (a song but I can't remember the first line.

I go for KSF as well. I was going for one of the other cancer charities having suffered two different ones so far, but think it is so hard on the families of children with cancer, that they all need help and cheer.

I calculate that there is 130TL so far in the pot. You all are making this painless for me. I am sure members can do better. Let's see some great new posts and replies to follow. Only 12 days to go inorder to get this pot to overflow.
I will close this topic. Please continue here:
