Hi all,
My husband is due to renew his passport. He has his Turkish kimlik card surname and his English passport surname. We live in Cyprus and have recently married and we had to marry under his kimlik surname, therefore we want to change his passport to his kimlik card surname. We have scoured the internet and have called the passport help line and cannot find definitive information on how to do this and what procedure we need to follow.
Has anyone else been in this position, or know of anywhere we can get help?
Any ideas or help much appreciated!!!!

When you apply for englısh passport ıt gıves you an optıon of observatıons you could put hıs kımlık name here so that he has bothe names on the passport and send proof of thıs. Some englısh women WHO marry foreıgners WHO wısh to keep there maıden name have there marrıed name entered by passport offıcıals under the observatıons for all to see.

if you want everything to be under the same surname then you would have to do a Deed pole surname change. this can be done quite easily over the internet for €20
https://deedpolloffice.com
I did it couple of months ago as I had the same problem like all British Turkish Cypriots. when the TRNC changed the surname act 1987 and gave everyone new surnames everyone ended up with different names.
The passport office excepted the deed poles and changed the name on my British passport so now TRNC, Greek ID and British Passport all under one name.

Thank you for your help and suggestions. We were looking at more of the name change option so Erkin, it's nice to hear someone in the same position as us has managed to resolve the problem. Fingers crossed we can sort this out too!
