Vietnam workers have been found cooking street dogs every Sunday on a spit near
Erulku in north Cyprus!
This is discusting!!!
On the picture their faces are blurred but obviously a picture was took by somebody!
And the polis can't do anything as there is not enough evidence to say these dogs were
Alive!
Apparently they capture a stray dog every Sunday (so another poor dog tomorrow again)!
The workers say that they were already dead.
As if !!
This is outrageous that this kind of thing is happening here!
Don't we have enough cruelty!

I can't find the picture to post on here if somebody can post it so we can broadcast the
Sick Vietnam workers!
Its on the ''Kibris724.com''
Disgusting!!!!!!!

I've seen the picture, absolutely sickening, and will not put it up on here to horrify anyone else with it.
This barbarism is happening , we don't need to see gruesome pictures, we need police action to find, stop and punish these evil evil fiends, preferably over a very hot
fire!!

What is wrong with eating dog? The only reason most will base the complaint on is that many have dogs as pets.

How many people make as much noise when it is the mass of song birds that are killed every day. What about horsemeat? What about veal where poor calves are kept in appaling conditions just so you can eat white meat. Who has eaten suckling pig or feu gras (that duck pate) where the poor duck is force fed in disgusting conditions.

Given the quality of life many dogs have here I wonder if it is better they serve some purpose. These workers have probably not been paid by some crooked builder and simply finding a way to survive.

1, these vietnam workers and alot of others get 300 tl a month from the goverment for food it may not be much but its more then alot get here that are also struggling.
2, alot of people dont agree on eating horse i deffonatly wouldnt as that is also a pet, i dont agree with the way ducks and other animals are treated but cows and things are breed to be milkd and to be eaten, farmers keep them for money not as a pet that they love.
3, no dog should be eaten ecspecially not here when so many people are trying to help these animal and by them cooking them is ruining that dogs chance of a happy life :/
Sorry but i do not Agree with hour comment at all

Oh dear, another culture thing.

A hindu is probably just as sickened at the thought of people eating beef, to them the cow is sacred.

I personally would never eat rabbit because I kept them as pets.

And I do not eat pork because my husband is Muslim.

These people know no different, in vietnam when the usa were playing their war games, and, as usual, the 'common people' were the victims, what else had they to eat but, dogs, cats, rats?

I do not think that they should be prosecuted, just informed that what they are doing is not acceptable here.

But apparently they tortured the dogs before cooking them.
Might not be a street dog so much.
It could be a lost/missing family dog.

I was told many years ago by a lady who was raised in Hong Kong dog is a lovely meat but it is a shame it has to be beaten to death for the meat flavour. I have never googled this as I really didn't want to know but maybe that's why they are said to torture it. I know with deer a clean shot is better as tough, chewy meat happens when a deer has a lot of adrenaline pumping through his veins when he is killed.
I think like Blue butterfly they must be informed it is not acceptable here, if it was part of their diet at home they may know no difference.

Cyprushome ,

i am disgusted by your post , obviously not an animal lover just a plain old sicko wanting to stand out from the crowd , how would you feel if you had animals that one escaped on the sat in fact how would anyone feel if this happened to them , i would have them all deported on the next plane and yes you could go to cyprusholme .

anyone witness this situation should call the police immediately , personally i would call the police afterwards and they would have to collect a few from hospital .

Oh dear, because you do not like the truth you resort to threats and intimidation. Read what I and others have actually written and then offer a reasoned argument.

The polis are dealing with it I hear last night.
But they can't do much as they want to see them in action torturing the dog
Because they claim the dog was already dead first.
Yea right! Like every Sunday there's a dead dog waiting to be cooked!
The photo was taken in secrecy by a Turkish worker and he taken the photo
to the polis.
The polis obviously blurred their faces.
And if you zoom in on the picture as I did 3 times it actually shows the dogs
were skinned before but not its head.
So they obviously doing it properly. But who eats a dead animal if they claim its already dead?

Iam locking this. As I feel it servesno more useful purpose. It seems as always that cultural differences can be upsetting to those who donot understand them. I am an animal lover, and am also a vegetarian (more for health reasons) and there are many like me.l I cannot riase an animal tokill it to eat, and so I cannot expect anyone else to do that. But in other cultures certains meats are acceptable and are enjoyed to the full.

There is no need for any of us to castigate others for doing what they did at home (goodness knows we Brits are good at that!) but if that practice is acceptable to others then it is not a problem.

I think the biggest issue here is whether they 'tortured' the dog before skinning it and cooking it. But that is something the police will have to discover. Maybe it was a dog that has just been run over by a car and therefore was 'edible'. Maybe to these workers it would be a waste to leave some good food uneaten. And does that happen every week or just a one off. They don't seem to have a home of their own in which to cook the animal but a bonfire which looks as if it is made of packing cases or floorboards.

We don't know .But I honeslty feel for most of us it has nothing to do with loving animals but more to do with horror at seeing a practice to which we (and our host country) is alien. Few of us know or understand the practice sin other countries. The reference to the sacred cow is interesting because when we went to India what was amazing is that these sacred cows were given priority in the stree,t and woe betide you if you hit one with a vehicle. And yet to us, they were al half starved and it seemed cruel to allow them to live as'gods' in that condition.

Although I am locking this threa,d if anyone has any update on this, PLEASE start a new thread to inform us. Thanks.
