Residency question.....sorry!

We are about to renew our residency. Both of us over 60 so don't need blood tests, etc. I have been looking for a list of requirements on this board, and they seem to differ. Has anyone been recently and done it? What puzzles me is that in some previous posts people are saying that a copy of the marriage certificate is needed. We have been here 5 years and have never had to provide it. Is this a new requirement?

Also does anyone have the latest costs, as I understand they have very recently increased.

I have tried looking on the BRS pages as someone suggested but cannot find anything as I am not a member.

Many thanks in advance.

Mrsgee, I took my friend about a month ago.
All she needed was a Muhtars letter, copy of bank statements and passport, also copy of
kocan (I think)
Took it to Lefcosia, bought the stamps in the cafe, we were in and out, with the new residency
within an hour.
Hope this helps,

As you are both over 60 you don't need to renew.

Crossed to the South yesterday and asked TC immigration if, as a 64 year old, I needed to renew my current Temporary Residency when it expires.
Was told emphatically "No!".

On return from Greek side asked the same question.
Again, told "No!". The girl even leafed thru my passport and pointed to my current residency stamp. "When this expires you don't need to renew it".

Thanks Flower Fairy, yes that's very helpful.

TRNC Vaughan, I know there has been lots of debate about not having to renew if you are over 60, but there seems some uncertainty as it is not actual law apparently. I think to be on the safe side we will do it this time, and then see what happens when there is a settlement (if there ever is).

As I have previously posted, I wouldn't trust ANY government not to change the rules over night, without telling anyone, When I have a stamp in my passport that says Permanent, then I'll be happy.

Right, been and done it this morning with hubby. Got there for 9.45, out again, all done and dusted in less than an hour. Very efficient.

Took:

Passport and pink book
Photo copies of the last residency stamp in the passport, plus photocopy of the information page with photo.
Copies of bank statements off the internet
Muhtar's letters
Copy of Kocan (yes we have it at last!!)
Application form which I downloaded from the BRS website, someone put a link in another thread. These I completed beforehand except for the signature part at the bottom, which we did in front of the chappie dealing with us.
We got the stamps from the café - 11 lira each although the stamps were only 10 lira
Cost for 2 years was 500 lira each (very expensive, as our chappie commented - yes, we said, it is).

Found the chappie who was handing out the numbers - he was no where to be seen when we arrived, but appeared a little later. Everyone was being dealt with very quickly and efficiently.

So, that is the latest, straight from the horses mouth.

Do you have to be a BRS member to download the form?

I got it from another thread about residency. Someone put the link on and I just went in that way. I had tried on the BRS website but couldn't get the form as I am not a member. I will probably get my wrists slapped for that!! Can't remember which thread it was on as there are a few - sorry.
