Can anyone tell me where the Wednesday market is held in Kyrenia please?

Next to the police station.

may be they don't know where the police station is and im afraid im not good at directions

Coming from Lapta/alsancak direction.

After the water fountain roundabout, you will see the big arcelik shop on the right, turn right up this road and continue up past the main police station, the market is on the right.

This isn't quite correct because you cannot turn right at that point - there is a central reservation. You must continue down to the next roundabout and then loop round and return to the Arcelik shop.

Alternatively, you can turn right at the water fountain roundabout, immediately left, left again before the hairdressers and then finally left after the pine trees with trunks painted white.

Well spotted JBA, I was going to correct msg 4, but you beat me to it. I was also going to ask which direction the initial enquiry would be travelling into Girne from on the assumption not everybody lives west of the town.

Thanks to you both. Actually we are in Esentepe so the central reservation problem didn't apply! Went to the market this morning no problem, thanks to your directions.

Don't for get there is Famagusta market tomorrow and Iskele on Friday

So who can give me directions to both Famagusta Market and Iskele market please

HI iskele market first. From esentepe head towards tatlisu. At the T junction turn right and follow the road over the mountain. At the roundabout at the end by the petrol station turn left. continue along that road until you see a shopping type complex on your right with a big M sign. Go past that and take the next turning left. This will take you into Iskele. At the roundabout in the centre go straight across and the market is on your right.

For Famugusta follow the same directions till you get to the roundabout by the petrol station. At this roundabout go straight across. Follow this road until it,s end then turn left to Famagusta. At the end of that road turn right, go across the traffic lights and look out for a travel agents on the right with a large aircraft hoarding. turn right there and follow the road up. The market is on the left just before burgar city and park where you can. If you want fresh fruit and veg you cannot beat Famagusta market. Good luck

Johhny 1. At the roundabout on the approach to Girne on the main Lefkosa - Girne road, get into left lane before arrival. Turn left and keep in the left lane, pass the Mercedes car dealer on your left (approx 100m) keep going. You will see after approx 500m a large white painted Arcelik dealer outlet on your left and another roundabout ahead of you, turn left after the building and before the roundabout. There is a park on your right, carry up this road - Police HQ on the left, market on the right. Parking close may be a problem, but there is usually parking available in the locale. Happy shopping!

Also remember the saturday market in Guzelyurt , nice drive out if you go out past Lapta and Gecitkoy .
