Has anybody heard anything about the new airline that's supposed to be starting up? It's all gone very quiet about it.

Yes Karpaz Airways supposedly due to start operations in April. Don't read anything into it too much another propaganda by the north to show the show that they have a new state airline. Even though it has been registered in Turkey and has license to operate only to Turkey. It is a non starter.

Karpaz airlines from what I understand just will operate from
Turkey to North Cyprus.
However Atlas jet will be operating from Luton London
Via Istanbul to North Cyprus from May.
Nice to see a bit of competition.

Kiplet, Yes Atlasjet will start operating from May via Istanbul to Luton airport, I would prefer to use them rather then Pegasus. It is actually easier for people to get from Luton to the north and South by Rail then Stansted with Thamelink offering better and cheaper fares to all London Mainland stations then Stanted.
Davedee-Freebird is a charter airline carrier based in Antalya, normally they have flights in the months only from the UK and Europe via Antalya. There fleet is quite young based on B737-800 and AB320-100 180 seat. Like Pegasus they charge for food and drinks on board. Last year they operated from Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Belfast. This year they are only doing it from Stantead as an operator on behalf of Green Island Holidays.
