Is it possible to buy Levothyroxine at the chemist without a prescription and can anyone advise me of the cost? Thanks.

Yes, it is possible. Any chemist will supply them. You do not need a prescription for them over here. I have never paid more than 10.00tl for mine before, however, each chemist varies in price somewhere between 8.00tl and 9.50tl.
If you are unsure of asking, take your old packet into the chemist and ask for more of the same.

I buy the Turkish brand Abdiibrahim Levotiron 100mcg - 100 tablets for 7.35TL. They seem to be the cheapest, I always ask for the Turkish equivalent of any medication as it is so much cheaper. I believe the government sets the prices for medication so the same medication should be the same price at every pharmacy. Prices seem to have increased recently due to the weakening lira.

Come_on_aylin, I agree that Government sets the prices but there are certain Chemists that muck about with the price tags on occasions. There is one thread here about the Chemist next to Tempo in Karalangoglu who habitually hand writes over the price. Not on everything of couse, but the shop is renowned for it. Check the thread. Like you I usually ask if there is a Turkish equivalent, in fact the place I go to, the lady there usually asks me if I want the T. equivalent without me having to ask!
