No water for the last six days - apparently the Belediye/Townhall have not paid their electric bill and they don't seem to have any back up. I have to ask a neighbour to give me water for the animals. The dirty washing up is growing as our water tank is now empty. No shower either. Being weekend, I can't even go there and shout at somebody!! Fed up!!! If they had told us 5 days ago, we could have been more careful with our water consumption.

Same in Catalkoy this is the third time.

Strange that the water in Catalkoy failed to come back on after the big power cut! It comes and goes on a daily basis since Thursday so are you sure Deniz1 that it is because Catalkoy have not paid their electric bill? We are used to having no water for two or three days at a time following any power cut but it is always switched back on again if you go down and let them know about it!!!

We had been informed, that we are now starting the summer system of water two days off then one day on. That is fine. Its like that every summer.
But we still have no water and it is six days now, no explanation. We literaly have no water at all. Nothing!!!!!!

This has not happened before without explanation.
Some time ago the pump was broken but we knew and were very careful with our water.
We just don't know what to do now. Nobody at the Belediye and probably nobody until Monday. I asked everybody and we seem to be on a promise every day, but nothing is happening.

Same in Ozankoy, no electric followed by no water!!

Must be the main pump then either burnt out or they are cut off again.

We've been having long MAINS cuts in Alsancak also. Wouldn't mind if they'd just let us know a bit in advance. A message --in English --from the Belediyesi would be a great help, especially as many of the staff speak English.

Bit of a tall order to message the whole population how would they do it phone, email? Or post a notice at the council offices?

I asked all my neighbours and they only announced that we now are on the summer system, i.e. one day one 2 days off.

No other messages, just third or fourth hand info - Ali said, that Mehmet's brother in law said................................

We live Alsancak.Have been having off days since 1st week in May 2013.It was 4 off & one on for a while,dont know what it is now.Asked in Belediyesi last year & they informed us of the on/off periods.

Yes thats the norm but to have no water for many days at a time is not at least it never has been where I live. Kib tek cut the power to our main water pumps twice this year so I assume its happened again.

Sorry Deniz1, I thought folks were aware of the loudspeaker systems for items of importance. No way would I suggest that they come round, knocking on doors to let us know. Perhaps a message in English could be left on the Belediyesi door -- that would be a big help. I'm sure someone will suggest that I should learn Turkish--I do know a bit, but the older one gets, the more difficult it becomes.

It's not always the lack of turkish, we have several loudspeakers and somehow we get a triple echo and to understand it is really difficult even for a Turkish person. I suggested to put announcements on their FB page, doesn't have to be in English even, but I have to work a bit harder on that.
We still have not got any water, but we will have it tomorrow, that will be eight days without!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dipkarpaz is divided into three districts and apparently, yesterday district one had water, today district 2 and yes we were the unlucky district 3, so we will get it tomorrow.
This has taught us a lesson. We will have to get another water tank and maybe also see if we can have a well dug. We might not be allowed of course, we''ll see...........

My house is far away from the speakers so although I understand turkish i wouldnt be able to hear it unless i was in the village when the Hoca calls.

Still no water at Bufavento, two phone calls today and was told the electric had been cut off again to the pump and the generator is not working maybe tonight he said. Oh yes? Believe it when you see it. Think its tanker time as I cannot see into my tank so I dont know how much water I have.

Ahhhh.....................at long last.................WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a trickle in the tap now belediye say that they have been at the ministry all day but cannot solve the problem.

OUR WATERTANK DID NOT FILL UP AS MUCH AS WE HOPED AND TODAY AFTER LUNCH OUR TANK WAS EMPTY ALREADY!!!!!!
There are only two of us in this house and we do not use water excessively. Hopefully it will be water day tomorrow!!
