Soner, Many thanks yet again for production of such an informative news letter. Full of general interest and enjoyment and delightful to read through.

I have a question regarding the Home page where it states, as the main title, "Nami addresses British citizens", there is good coverage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs speech during the General Council of British citizens.

My question is: Since when did the AGM of the BRS become the General Council of British citizens?

Waddo, he was there by invitation of a support group to the BRS and the members where grateful. Let's hope this TRNC Governmental initiative is a success, unlike their previous attempts.

Regarding your question, article was a TRNC government press release - so possibly what they have been informed or a mistake.

Tomsteel, on your side with that! From what I could make out of his speech it looks like things are on the move again and for the better as well. I watched it on my pad and the sound was poor but a good presentation by the man. I had heard a "story" of an ID card being in the process as well but no mention in the presentation so just another Area 51 I guess - lol.

Waddo, he spoke about a new 'white ID card' concept for expats, but it was vague and just an outline. The point he did make was, once issued, there would be need for annual/bi annual immigration visits.

As a 60+ person I go every two years anyway so that would be no great loss and I must admit to missing my ID card, having had one sort or another from age 15 to age 60 I feel naked without it.
