really good vet anyone?

We recently adopted a stray (having advertised him all over but no one wanted him) and suddenly he developed kidney failure. He is a less than one year old golden retriever X . Pertev the vet has done a brilliant job saving him and he is in 'recovery' but unfortunately he (Henry) has stopped eating whi9ch is not good. Sadly Pertev is away until the 11th. Does anyone know a really good vet who could help?
I know of numerous indifferent vets and one who is abolutely crap but a good one would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Trooper, if you really have that opinion of Petcross then you might as well give up looking for a vet. The girls at Petcross have saved the life of my dog twice and the second time did things way beyond the call of duty. I am amazed you can liken them to someone who trained at a butchers and I know there are many, many people who will sing their praises as I do.
Good luck with your hunt.

I am sorry but I can't believe that remark.Firdez took my dog to her own home every night for 12 nights to keep an eye on her after she was bitten by a snake.I do hope you do find one who is not a butcher in time for your dog.

Petcross for me every time! They have the necessary equipment and know how to use it, both my dogs have been there for general treatment, emergencies and ops, I can only speak as I find and I have full confidence in them.....they are very caring and loving towards our dogs......

Trooper, as you seem to be in the minority, would you be prepared to explain the reason for your remark? May be you could check out Mountain Edge's posting last November "poison in Karsyaka"

Firdez and her team for me and my 'family'. She has always shown care and seems to know the animals by name.

All of the vets at Petcross are absolutely brilliant, Trooper perhaps you would like to explain your comment.
I for one know and appreciate the hard work and care the Petcross team put in.

All Pets Veterinary Clinic, Girne. 0533 869 2998
Her clinic is, up from the 1001 shop in Girne on the left, more or less opposite the school.
KAR send people there.
She is a kind, gentle, caring person who, I know from experience, cares more about the animals than money.

Petcross has the best equipment in Girne
All Pets - as BB says she is very passionate
Pet line - Catalkoy based
Pethospital - Pertev
Unfortunately vets are in a worse position than doctors as their patients can not speak therefore people are always going to be passionate when it goes wrong and speak highly of the person when it goes right therefore I highly suggest the buzz book
My tribe,
the cats like Firdez and Pertev but dislike Sybil and Petline but does it make them bad vets?
the dogs, pointers go to Petcross
the collie only Pertev has managed to get on with him in the last few years but last time he came home dopey so I assume the collie is showing his true colours again.

Niazzi at Petline. He operated on my dog after she had been attacked by GDS. He demonstrated the complicated procedure of how to treat the open wound daily.
He must have seen the look on my face as I was thinking fine when she's unconscious but how am I going to manage that when she's awake.
He then said "If you can't manage you bring her to me each day, we'll do it together, no money"
As it happened, my dog was very trusting, I managed just fine and didn't have to take advantage of Niazzis very generous offer. The fee for the operation and checkups was minimal.
Very kind gentle man.

I agree Bonnie. He came out to take a blood test for the street dog who would never get into a car, he gave us the bad news and again came out and gave her the fatal injection. He stood silently whilst 3 of were crying and in pieces, he was very understanding and the only charge was for the blood test and the injection. He has operated on 22 cats that I have taken to him, he looks after my own dogs and cats and they wag their tails when going to see him. Never have I had any problems with boarding the animals with him. He brought in a girl for cutting hair and she made a few mistakes in cutting hair to close to the skin, but I believe that has been sorted.

Another yes for Firdez and petcross from me - been using her/them for the past 8 years for various felines and canines would not go anywhere else - she takes them home with her when needed as has been said.

Trooper I do hope you got your dog to a vet in time, that wasn't trained at Dewhurst and that it is now recovering?

Yes Petcross are excellent and very caring. They have looked after my VERY stroppy large ginger cat on numerous occasions and still treat him with care and attention despite having been bitten and scratched.

As there has been no further response from Trooper I can only imagine that the slur on Petcross was exactly that, a slur!! The girls at Petcross are brilliant and that unnecessary comment about the training was totally out of order.

OK trooper, we can only speak as we find and I do hope Henry improves. Does the vet know what the problem is?

Re mail 1, just to let you know that Pertev is not on holiday. We saw him today at his clinic, the Hospetal at Girne
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Pertev had to cancel his holiday.
