Hi Folks
I am sure before I read that someone had fitted fly screens with arched windows and doors. I have arched windows and doorways throughout the house and want to fit fly screens that can be used with shutters. I have had one quote but they say that I cannot have any sliding models and that I will not be able to use the shutters at the same time. That sounds to me that I may keep out the wee blighters but heat the house up during the day with the sun! Apart from the obvious question I have from afar of when will I be able to use the shutters! LOL!
I am not on the island at present so I write only what I have had relayed to me. A wee bit awkward I know, sorry about that.( Maybe its all lost a bit in translation)
Does anyone have these and are any that are sliding?
All info most welcome
many thanks

We have arched windows and doors throughout our villa and quotes for fly screens were very high so decided to make do with fine net curtains which do work quite well

In the book 'Lucky in Cyprus' they had an ingeneous idea. They cut like a little window in the fly screen to be able to reach the fastening of the shutters. We do not have arched windows, but we have an old house and my husband has worked out how to solve the problem for us. Every window is different. Some of them we will have to take the fly screen out, when we want to shut the actual window. They are not very good at 'sideway' thinking here. If it can't be done the normal way...........
You could get some of this netting and stick it in with velcro.

Thanks to you both for your replies.
I am still trying to work out why I could not use the screens and shutters particularly as I would want to close them all when I was going out etc?
I am probably missing some obvious clue! LOL!

We had fly screens made for our arched windows, by the guy whose shop, in Girne, is located halfway down the main road between the "fountains" roundabout, and the roundabout at the top of the High Street. It's on the left-hand side as you go down, next door to a new fish shop. Hope that helps.
