Trying to keep my ageing laptop going, well 3/4 years old, and I needed to get a new power lead ( the block reducer part ) so I went to the shop next to Mr Pound in Girne and they had a replacement - YES THE REAL THING NOT A COPY - for TL58 ( equiv of $32.00) . I had seen one on the internet for about £9.00 so thought I would try Iconic Computers further down the road.

Again they had the genuine replacement...........................Now how much did they ask...............without blinking.............

Wait for it..............................TL120.00.....................yes over double.............

I went straight back to the first shop , cheekily asked for a discount for cash, and with a smile the lady said ok TL55.00

PLUS she stressed with a 2 year guarantee for the part.

The name of the shop was ComAks and their range of parts is very extensive.

So from now on, computer wise , they will have my custom.

FYI..............They said if they don`t have a part in stock, they can order from Turkey and normally arrives in 10 days.

Very friendly people.

Looseboots, I agree with you about Comaks - they do know what they're doing, and charge a proper price.

I have also found that Acdinc computer shop - in the same block as Stroll Inn in Karakum - are also very knowledgeable, helpful, and not expensive.

Take your pick!
