We have re-started running our trips to Akincilar which includes Kirklar Turbesi (The Tomb of Forty), these will now be on a monthly basis and as such places are limited.

Lourijina (Akıncılar) has been closed to foreigners due to having to travel through an army camp to gain access. However, with special permission of the army, we are now able to offer a guided trip for 45tl which includes a lunch of ‘Firin Kebab’ (excluding alcoholic drinks) which must be the best on the island! We are able to offer chicken or vegetarian alternatives for those who do not eat lamb.

For reservations please email: tulipscarole@yahoo.com with:

Your name (as it appears on your passport) and of each person in your group
Your passport number and of each person in your group
Your telephone number
Your choice of meal and of each person in your group

Due to the limited number of spaces available, we will be taking bookings on a first come, first served basis.

Sorry but we do have to take payment at the time of booking or as soon as possible.

Pick up by minibus will be at 9.30am at CreditWest Bank, Catalkoy and you will be returned there at approx 4pm.

Please remember to bring your passports (without these you will be refused access at the army camp gates!), cameras, sun tan lotion, water and hats!

All money raised from these trips goes to Help Those With Cancer Association/Tulips.

Just confirming how good the kebab is, and how interesting the 40 Martyrs Tomb is. As no one can go on their own, I would encourage everyone to 'seize the moment' and go and see this unique village.
Today Dr Sibel said that the road would happen 'soon' but she didn't say exactly when, and when that is done we can all go, but at the current rate of progress I tmight even be next year. So again, I urge anyone with any curiosity to take up this offer.
