Hello Truckman, I have only used Chlorine from the South which comes in 25Kilo drums at approximately 65-70 euros ! if used properly this should last 2 summer seasons. With the risk of upsetting some, I was told by a friend who looks after many pools here successfully, that the Chlorine available here is not good quality !

So much will depend on the purity/strength of the dry chlorine. The 90% is what to look out for but some are only 60%. I have been able to buy 90% from Murat at Esentepe Pools and it's been fine.
How much the pool is used and its size are also relevant factors... I only add chlorine when needed rather than at regular intervals as our pool is used intermittently... heavy usage will require more regular dosage but add too much and eyes will sting and it rots costumes and towels. - plus - nobody wants to smell like a public swimming bath Bottom line there is no easy answer.

I get the 90% chlorine from Siba in 50Kg drum, for 130 Euro. The last one lasted over 2 years and was 110 Euros, but I do shut the Pool down in the winter for 4 months.

This will reduce your chlorine usage drastically.
