Today I have received 2 e-mails in my spam box supposedly from HMRC headed" Tax notice". When Googling HMRC it does say they are contacting, re unpaid tax bills and if no response after 4 contacts, can claim money from your bank account. Not sure if I have understood this correctly. Does anyone know? ( as far as I know I don't owe anything, nor have had any correspondence from the tax office!)Have deleted the e-mails, unopened.

The next email you receive concerning this ? spam ? email please look at the headers under view or source to ascertain exactly who sent this sort of email to you. The email address it is sent from will usually give you an email address that is not @gov.uk. HMRC rarely send emails. It is more usual to receive a letter to an address in the UK.

Thanks for that, I don't have any UK address. Hopefully no more e-mails.
