Residency stamp fee?

Can anyone please confirm correct stamp fee for residency permit.
A recent post on this site gives cost as 8.50tl... Someone has told me it cost them 9.50tl and while going throught the tread mill which is the police station a note tacked to the wall gives cost a 10.50tl.
Thus confusion rules and when asking at the post office they did not or could not understand. Saying that they also did not know the North Cyprus issued special stamps for diamond jubilee with a face valur of 80kuros.

Obviously changed since we did our Police station stint Jan last year as they didnt want stamps at all - only at Lefkosa, and they sell them in the canteen there - the right denomination! we got a 2yr resixency stamp, so dont go again til Jan next year, and I bet theyve changed it all again by then!! Oh well, we wait to learn!

I'm not certain of the costs guys, but please bear in mind that the people running the canteens in these buildings are operating independently - they buy the stamps from the post office at their face value and then sell them on making a 1 or 2-TL profit.

True but you get the right denomination and it saves going to the post office.

I agree Deniz - I certainly don't begrudge paying them 1 or 2 TL for their service.

I seem to remember that there was another stamp needed for the 'first' temporary residency' application - possibly to cover the cost of the photo, and the issue of the blue / pink 'book'.
That might explain some of the discrepancies - otherwise, I've no idea!
Mind you, people who know me say that I've got 'No Idea' anyway

When you hand in all your gubbins at the police station they will tell you what stamps you need to buy and what cash you need for payment. That is the only way you will get a definitive answer.
In April for our renewal it was 8.50tl for stamps and 212tl fee, I think!!!!!!
I cannot understand why people pay over the odds for stamps at the cafe yet come onto forums moaning about being ripped off in the supermarkets over a few kurus!!! Get them at any post office, we all pass one at least every time we leave home and you usually have atleast 2=3 weeks wait before going to immigration at Lefkosa.

I have just done my residency for the first time, the police kept the stamps, I followed what the BRS advised and was told by the police to go and get another 2 TL in stamps and then return with all my paper work, I did so, and was surprised that the police kept the stamps along with everything else, I was under the impression that I just had to show I had them.
When I went to collect my residency yesterday, I had to get 8.50 in stamps and paid 212 to the revenue desk. We arrived at 11.40 and left at 12.15, no hassle at all.

re. last post.
If the Police kept the stamps for the higher amount i.e 10.5 TL for first residency & then you were charged 8.50 TL at Lefkosa too, then looks like you were taken for a ride. Did you not query this at Lefkosa?
Nice little earner for someone.
Someone this week reported that the stamp value for renewal of residency is now 11.5 TL. Which amount is right? Seems to a bit strange to me.

@ Scruff.
No I didnt query it, as I have read enough to know that things change all the time. Another couple we met were doing their renewal and helped me along, they were also surprised that the police kept the stamps, I started off at the first desk but as there were a few of us, some of us got sent to the 2nd door, so perhaps it was a copper that dosent know whats what, that is not for me to say. May be I have been taken for a ride, it wont be the first and I am sure not the last.
