Can any one confirm the news I heard earlier,that Deep Purple flew into Ercan in a British Airways private jet? I DO HOPE IT IS TRUE.Sorry TRNCvaughan just seen your posting

I think the key word is 'PRIVATE JET' maybe they can fly where they like if they have hired it!

There is a pic on facebook of the BA jet at Ercan though !

Cyprus Mail had an article on the BA plane landingat Ercan yesterday, but it has now been omitted in this mornings paper.

The picture showed a BA jet that would have been chartered. If it had been a "private" jet, belonging to some rich individual, it would have it's own livery, not that of BA.

Semantics - if it's privately hired and not a scheduled flight then presumably it can take whatever route it likes to submit a flight plan for (whilst respecting air-space) to keep fuel costs down...

Richard Branson was invited to a wedding in 2012, which was conducted at St. Andrews. He was supposd to fly direct, but Government would not allow it so he landed at Larnaca and he and fellow wedding guests came up by coach. If you can remember, there were rumous abounding that the Branson Empire was spreading to the TRNC. Just because he was spotted here.

what a pity his empire didn't move here,he would certainly get thing sorted!!
