Excessive noise at night

Maybe it's just me getting old but the noise from the Malpas Hotel last night was something else. Usually, we find the hotel is very good at keeping the noise down after dark but last night was an exception. Sounded like there was a wedding party (great, and a happy life to the newly married) but the singer and his group had got the volume so loud that I had to turn off our TV as I couldn't concentrate. The reverberation was coming down the chimney - and the noise went on until 1a.m. The thing was that it was the most awful sound. Goodness knows who was playing but it certainly wasn't tuneful - and I'm one who loves all sorts of music. If it had been Deep Purple then OK.

Please, Malpas Hotel, remember your neighbours. Some have to go to work the next day; some are sick; some just don't appreciate their homes being invaded by someone trying to sing. Where was your manager??

There will be a lot of tired people in Catalkoy today.

Agree totally and we live near the sea. The fireworks are nice to see, but the loud bangs sent my dogs nuts shaking and running around looking for a hiding place. If it was loud for us, it must have been deafening for everyone up by the Malpas. Maybe it was a one off.

I do hope so, Lor, otherwise it will become a miserable summer.

This topic was featured on the forum last year about this time.

Is it wedding time in North Cyprus? Seems like it can be a fairly common event in the summer months and of course with windows open sound travels far.

Noise officer your best bet I think if it is a real problem.
