I've just been told that the dog that used to live near the Hut on the Lapta strip is dead.I don't know if he was run over but he is laying at the side of the road so he might have been hit by a car.Ive been feeding him and I know other people were as well.

My friend phoned me when she drove past him about 2pm because she knew I feed him.She said he had blood coming out of his mouth and he was dead.I am heading out in a little bit so I will check. He was lying on the road side opposite the Hut so he could have been hit crossing over.It is sad.I bought him some tick stuff from the Vet but I could never get near enough to put it on him although he was getting a bit closer each time I stopped.

We were so sorry to read this I suppose it was inevitable but to who ever dumped him you really don't know what you threw away his loyalty to you never wained he spent his time looking for his car to come back for him. I think quite a few expats will have shed a tear for him.

This is very sad, god love him! I always looked for him and he was always in the same spot. But on Thursday he ventured across the road and I feared for him then. You are very kind people helping him, and my heart goes out to you. X

There must be 2 dogs on the Strip by The Hut, as today I saw the one brown/white and he looks fine!!! I think this one lives in the uncompleted hotel opposite Royal Spice. Good news.

Yes that is right. Im pleased to say that the dog that lives outside the Hut is ok and he had an extra large dinner from me last night. The dog that was found dead has gone missing from the side of the road so I expect it has been removed. Sad for that dog but good news for the Hut dog.

So pleased to read this, sorry for the other dog, wonder if it was the one that looked very similar which had been outside starling quite a lot recently? Any way, I shall be offering the Hut dog a snack or 2 during the week!

So if you all love this dog and feed him and worm him and flea him . Why won't one of you take him home with you??? !!!!!!!

Gul, I see this is your first posting under this name. If you hang around long enough you will realise that a very large proportion of us are up to our gills in adopted dogs. On top of this we try our best to look after street dogs as well eg.. I help feed, worm, deflea and de tic, at least one other street dog. What would you have us do, walk on the other side of the road and turn our backs? Not the kindest or most generous of actions under the circumstances, would you say?

I already have 4 dogs 3 of which are rescued because somewhere along the line someone else was irresponsible. There comes a time when all you can do is your best.I think feeding this dog, looking out for it,making journeys out for no other reason than to feed it and try catching it to put de-tick treatment on it is the best I can do.Im sure there are plenty of people who drive past this dog and don't give it a second thought.Maybe your comment Gul might prompt them into re-homing and would be better directed that way.
