Looks like either no one has read the CT or they have nothing to say regarding the BRS Chairmans smear campaign. I for one believe you reap what you sow.
This "incident" has now been registered at the courts and the allegations read, so there is absolutely no doubt that the Chair of the BRS is facing some sort of court action. Should he not now honourably resign? Or at least step down until such time that the case is over?
I'm sure that the Deputy Chairman will step up to save the soul of the BRS from any further disrepute.

Why should he resign? It's only lying to the committee,and getting his friend the policeman to try and get the other party thrown out of the BRS and then lying again.surely nothing new. After all in his own words (most of you know me and my achievements the BRS could not be in better hands.) and if don,t try and take the mike away from deputy is then in charge god help us. What astonishes me most is that it was published in the CT someone's losing his touch.

Well most of the committee knew about this misconduct so they should also resign.

So all that was achieved by shouting everyone down and stopping the AGM is to bring the chairman of the BRS into court? .Very grown up.!I thought the BRS lawyer and the deputy chairman said it was all hot air and there was no case or reason to worry? How worrying?

Maybe the headline is a bit dramatic, and maybe I should write 'Thgere was no smear campaign' because that is the truth. Howeve,r I do have in my sweaty little hand (well, when not using them for typing a copy of the writ served which certainly contradicts the statement in Cyprus Today of the matter 'now closed' etc.

One is not sure as to where any smear campaign is being conducted, but at KibKom we are concerned only with truth, which is often difficult to find. We don't do smear campaigns, it is against our ethics of journalism and life itself. But of course, this may be aimed at another media outlet, but it does not say which.

One must always accept that there are always two sides to every tale , and so as Mr Brown has stated his through Cypru sToday, we are happy to try to tell the tale from the side of others involved.

There is most certainly no anyonymous campaign to undermine Mr Brown or to discredit the society. I think the critics of the AGM and certain members of the BRS is because people want truth, closure (yes) but above all justice for those who have been hurt in the extreme by certain events of past weeks. Finding it can be challenging.

Marion, at the risk of mixing metaphors - "There are none more blind than those who refuse to see." The CT has a vested interest in a certain BRS Committee Member who writes articles for it. I recall one of them in (I think) Oct 09 where he questioned the leadership of a female RN officer who had just been appointed to captain a RN vessel and queried whether it would be related to her menstrual cycle. He neither knew her or the panel who appointed her. When I queried his view, pointed out that in Afghanistan that very period 3 other females were awarded gallantry medals and asked him how long he served in any of HM Armed Forces to base his view - silence was golden. He is a ---k.

Maybe there are occasions in life when men's testosterone levels go against them - certainly in leadership! We are all driven by our hormones, and often have little control over them, but we do have control over our brains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leadership surely it to do with brains and attributes , natural and learned, and not to do with biological cycles.

While on the subject of the BRS could someone on the old pre brown committee tell me why there are now "closed files" are they secret if so why? Surely not against the trnc as a country. Or are these closed files purely to stop the truth coming out? Why would a little part time society need them? Just saying!

I dont know the individuals concerned personally and I really dont understand what the dispute was about, but the way it has been is being handled is losing the BRS credibility with the British Population and will inevitably with the TRNC authorities. The only honourable way is for those concerned to stand down for a least a year, and EGM to be called and a new Committe elected. They should also elect someone with authority and a loud voice who will stop any unruly behaviour at meetings. He will be called "The Speaker"

Good point butterfly that way it would eliminate a lot of the problems! Anyone in mind? Preferably a lady with either balls or a big handbag!

Not sure any female would qualify on anatomical details, even with a large handbag! But if the sphericals are metaphorical, then there are a few!!!!

I am sure that any female applying for the job would insist on a microphone grafted on to her hand in order to prevent it being hi-jacked! (sorry, Stephen, but you did, you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Oops , quite right BB, particularly as I was actually thinking about Betty Boothroyd at the time of writing the post!

Plenty of women play golf and tennis - not to mention football, but gender doesnt matter provided they are capable of giving a good kick in the pants when necessary.

It's not a Smear campaign, ITS THE TRUTH CAMPAIGN.
