Last night a good friend was rushed to the Kolon hospital and had to undergo an emergency operation, he now needs to replace 11 units of A pos blood.
If there is anybody able to give a unit of blood please call Shuri on 0533 8430723 and she will arrange transport to the hospital.
Blood donors need to be under 50 and not on medication.
The person who requires the blood is Kevin Hosford ( Welsh Kev ) who lives in Ozankoy, he is now awake and talking but is still in ICU at the Kolon hospital.

Karmels. Have you tried posting on other forums. Hope the mods don't mind me saying but postings like this should reach the widest possible audience .

Are you absolutely sure they have to be under 50!! That's not the information I've been given in the past (unless the rules have been changed very recently?) If it is under 50 now, then the number of people donating blood at the Blood Donor Sessions is going to be drastically reduced.

Does the blood become "old" then over 50? Not knocking the need here, I understand its a delicate question, but a friend of mine was giving blood in his 70s.

Only passing on the ifno I was given by the hospital.

I saw this wa s posted on Facebook - good thinking. As to the under 50, it doe snot make sens.e However, I do know that now the age limit is 67 for giving via BRS. Daft, I reckon. Reducing the possibilities needlessly. I know of many people who were continuing to give blood as they were healthy and not on medication. Now they can't. Why? No one can answer that! Such a shame, I reckon. But hope that lal the blood required has been obtained.

I think that Forums and Facebook are great ways of maximizing the needs. Hope that Kev is O.K.
