Learning Turkish in the UK

I wondered if anyone in the UK (specifically the Manchester area) wishes to learn Turkish.
I have recently contacted The Manchester College and they are running a course in September for 15 weeks (2 hours a week in the evening) called "Turkish for Beginners".
The course is going to be aroud £175 which sounds a lot but works out at less than £6 per hour. I think you gain a qualification with this course.

This course will only be run if there is enough interest so I'm drumming up a bit of business for them really.
If you wish to contact them about the course I will give you the person I am dealing with's email address.

Thats all the detail I know apart from they are going to contact interested parties July/August, and there will be a break in October.

Hi CatalkoyChris
My daughter has just been looking for same sort of course in our area, Northumberland as we too would like to learn some basic Turkish, she is going to make some enquiries to the local college and high schools as sometimes they maybe a little less expensive so thats another option.

Hi Snowdrop and ÇatalköyChris,

A few years ago, I decided to spend a few weeks in the summer holidays, studying Russian prior to taking up a position in Moscow. I got myself two books with their accompanying CDs. Besides making my way methodically through all the chapters I also listened to the CDs in the car, in the bathroom, etc ... and it really helped.
If "Teach Yourself Turkish" is as good as "Teach Yourself Russian", then I recommend it.

By the way, having lived in Turkey on and off since 1988, my Turkish for some time has been at a level where I can communicate quite easily with non-speakers of English. So, I have had no need to buy such "audiopackages" for learning Turkish.
