Has anyone used calcium carbide in their soak away We have been advised to use as soak away is not working as it should . If yes where do you buy it from .

Yes we use it to cleat our soak away, it burns of the grease which builds up on the lime stone filter rocks.
We used 3kg for the soak away and it worked.
You can get this from any good yapi market.
Remember to leave the cover open for 12 hrs and NO NAKED LIGHTS as it produces the gas Carbide which was used in miners lamps.

Any other suggestions as soak away still filling and not draining
