Re: Replacement Pool Pumps
My recommendation would be not to buy but to take the pump to Press Teknik to be refurbished. It will cost you a lot less than a new one. My neighbour had his done 3 years ago, it cost 180tl and is still running strong. In the event that it can't be refurbished (ie. a cracked casing or similar) then he has a huge range of pumps at reasonable prices and a wealth of advice to help you choose the right one.
Press Teknik is on the right 300yds after the 2nd Alsancak Starling and before the Lapta strip.

Re: Replacement Pool Pumps
That would be most welcome Barry.
One of the frustrations about offering suggestions on here is that so few people bother to report the outcome which, after all, would be as beneficial to others as the advice initially offered.

Re: Replacement Pool Pumps
Get a replacement pump the same as the original one or you will have to cut and glue the pipework to make it fit.barrysnakes wrote:Any recommendations where to buy please ? Regards Barry

Re: Replacement Pool Pumps
We had to have a replacement when the copper had gone on our pool pump. We have had it repaired previously and went to the tekniks place but this time it couldn't be repaired. As rs was an older type pump we had to have new pipe work and the best quote was from Cyprus Pools at the fountain roundabout. 400 pounds for pool, new pipe work and fitting.

JBA I did promise to let you know how we got on with Press Teknic ! Very helpful and a good service ! although a little enthusiastic about time ie quoted 2 days, but was 6, but no problems as he explained had a big influx of work that week ! He managed to bring back to life a well and truly buggered pump which is now in situ and working ! He charged 220TL for the recon (only and not fitting, which I did myself) having quoted 250TL ! so far we are very pleased and thank you for your recommendation ! regards Barry

Re: Replacement Pool Pumps
Thanks for the update. I guess 220 is today's equivalent of 180 my neighbour paid 3 years ago.
Incidentally, did you price new pumps as opposed to the refurbishment? Do you know what you saved?
