Go into Girne past the hospital on your right and you will come accross a key cutting shop called Sahin, he is excellent and good value, also speaks good english.

You really have a problem here and much depends on the make and age of the car. Many keys can't be copied even if you have an original because they incorporate a chip which communicates with the ignition system. No independent key cutter can replicate the chip.

Most car manufacturers keep a record of the keys issued according to the VIN no of the car - but not all. You will need to go to the local dealer for your manufacturer (take your blue book which has a record of the VIN no) and get them to order 1 for you. Even if they can get one I suspect it will take a week or 2.

A motor dealer will cut one from the information held ,you just need to establish ( they wil ) if it has a transponder in it like a chip emobiliser .
In UK you would use google for Carkey 24 /7 and that's would be it on the co drive in the hour cut in and done for a hundred pound .
Best guy I have seen is on Tin Pan Alley in girne that could do that .

Look up the key in a book and cut it from start then chip the transponder to the barell .

The key shop next to the flower shop near the hospital is the same guy, it is now the son who runs the shop, he replaced my battery but it still wasn't working he found a crack in the circuit board and fixed it for 20 TL, it has been fine since.

You won't need log book ,you need a lock smith
In a manual held by motor factors is the make model vin ,car key blanks .
Nothing other than 5 mins look up ,cut a key and then open the door ,pull the code reader box and enter his sofwear on lap top ,the. Re programme your keg to that barrel and module ...easy for them

Go and talk to the key man in Girne first before you go to a lot of expense.

Thankfully things have changed a lot in 10 years. When we first came here we bought a second hand Ford from Changar Motors in Lefkosa and lost one of the keys (zapper type) We went back to Changar with the remaining manual key and asked if they could obtain another zapper one for us. Yes, was the reply - 6 weeks and just short of 100 hundred pounds!! Needless to say we didn't bother.
