He woke with chest pains on Monday morning, was taken to Girne Hospital by his partner, and died at 11am on Monday, following a massive heart attack. He was 47.

I heard that he was only 48 & died of a massive heart attack, that is much too young to go, obviously Cypriots count age as at the next birthday maybe this is why there is a discrepancy. RIP Sertap.

I am so sorry to hear that. It is a reminder to me that I really ought to do the things I say I will do. I had promised him I would get up to his salon, but sadly, never made it. He was a lovely man, and far too young to be snatched away form life. Sorry too that I can't get to the funeral. He was such a warm and fun person. What a loss!

I said I would not join another forum. But for this reason I must, to express our very deepest condolences to all of Sertaps family, friends and loved ones.
What a Gentleman, one of the nicest most genuine men we have ever met. I was devastated when I heard this awful news. So Young and so much to live for.
He was paramount in our help for Ismail, a wonderful singer and a Star.
I am not the worlds most computer literate person but I think somewhere on U tube at the NAFI Pia Bella for Ismail he is on there in his white suit and black shirt I think,
A small man in stature, but a big man and all heart, I had invited him to my George Roper tribute day at Haci Ali, I cannot believe we will not see him again, I would be more than happy to host an event in memory of Sertap and may be for the heart foundation or similar if they have one in TRNC or even to raise funds for related medical equipment.
Rest In Peace Sertap. Lee and Jan :

What a nice idea Johnny, I am sure you will get a lot of support, with any event in memory of Sertap. Maybe later in the year when the wimps who can't stand the heat, return!!

Thank You Owl Lady, so you think it would go down a Hoot.
I will do it with pleasure, it also a subject close to my Heart, literally. I am sure the local hospital could benefit in some way.
I think Sertap would have agreed with this.

That's fine with me I am most happy to do something , i just need to get the Tulips day at Haci Ali completed first and then we can do this for Sertap , providing of course that his family and partner etc. are happy about this. I do not know if they post on here but some feed back from them would be welcomed.
Thank You.

I have been contacted by Laura from CTTTC , and she has suggested we do this for this cause , it would be my pleasure. I will start work on it after the 20th July due to us organising the tribute to George Roper evening at Haci Ali on 19th July.
I would like just to get the OK from Sertap's family/friends, also anyone wishing to help me with this I would be very grateful IE raffle prizes , etc, help on the day, poster design etc.. etc.
If we can do this then I would like it to be a day worthy of Sertap.
Thank You.

I remember when we lived next door, when we were kids, played together every day,ate at one anothers homes like own,sat and laughed at our parents arguing, sleeping in same beds especially during 74 war, crawling together to shelters at hard times, sitting on the edge of nicosia walls and having our first ever cigerette drags and feeling dizzy together.............
they say life isn't fair.........who am I to judge?
REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND..........can't say bye,but see you later......

My other half met Sertap when we first came here just over 2 years ago, by using the hairdressing salon. She always spoke well of him and admired him for the way he used to look after and feed the street dog's.
She always had a laugh with him when Neill went off on one!!!
Our love is sent to his partner and family, R.I.P. Sertap

Talking with friends of Sertap today, telling them of your proposal, they suggested that maybe KAR could be a beneficiary in view of Sertap's love for and caring for stray animals. Only a thought!

Nccct I don't think they treat English, the day should be donated to tulips they treat anyone.

Sorry, you misunderstand, the NCCCT do not" treat" anyone. They raise money to by what ever equipment is needed for the Oncology wards in the hospitals. Both" Tulips "and NCCCT support each other in the quest to help Cancer sufferers both Turkish, British and any other nationality. Perhaps Tulips can confirm this on here for me!

Both Tulips and NCCCT work hard for cancer in the TRNC. NCCCT raise money to buy equipment for the hospitals whereas Tulips raise money to provide support to foreign nationals who are cancer patients, in the form of care and advice, help with costs of treatment and drugs.
Both organisations are very much supportive of each other in the roles they play and the essential services they provide.

Thank You for your feedback, I will do this for Sertap as soon as I can organise it, as I mentioned previously I am busy at present with planning the George Roper event at Haci Ali on the 19th July for Tulips.
I will gladly help any genuine good cause, sorry I did not respond sooner I have been away for just over a week.
All good causes need our help I would like some input from Sertaps family and friends on this ,I feel that would be important, maybe more than one charity can benefit,
Knowing Sertap . He would have gladly helped any one.
As I mentioned previously anyone wishing to get involved with this event in Sertaps memory, please feel free to contact me.
Thank You Lee. 0533 843 6539

I'm glad that Owl Lady and Tulips stepped in so quickly to correct lulu. I agree that Serhat did his very best to help the stray animals in and around his area.
