Hi, does anyone know if you can buy car insurance for the greek side at the Pile(Beyamadu) crossing and if so what are the opening times?
Thanks in advance.

Be aware that they can only issue insurance on production of the annual 'MOT' document that can only be issued at Metehan. I speak from bitter experience...

There is NO crossing at Pyla/Pila, it is at Beyermudu/Pergamos. The insistence of some expats calling this crossing point by the wrong name causes confusion for first-time visitors from Larnaca or Paphos airports.

Beyarmudu.... it may well be but everyone knows it as the Pyla/Pile crossing... partly because there is no sign off the motorway at junction 59 for Beyarmudu that I can see - so that would confuse don't you think? The crossing is in fact on the British SBA so technically it's on UK soil!tomsteel wrote:There is NO crossing at Pyla/Pila, it is at Beyermudu/Pergamos. No need to be such stickler when everyone knows what is meant....

First time visitors do not know what is meant, especially when arriving at night as most UK inbound flights to LCA are. Only the 'know it all' expats decide to rename the actual crossing point. If you leave the A3 at junction 61, turn right, after 200 mtrs you will see the sign for Pergamos. However, you obviously know best. Great sign-in name by the way!

If you arrive at LCA why would you drive all the way to J61? Turn-off when it says Pyla and onto Beyarmudu... but as this thread is about the reverse trip I guess your point is moot.
