Got my last spectacles from Specsavers and despite several return visits and many adjustments they are the worst I have ever bought!
Have been told on several visits that local opticians in Kyrenia offer good value and quality specs.
Anyone have any experience in this area or any advice??
I will be visiting in August for a month.

Canada Optics opposite Lemar. I had Varifocals, Reactive light, thinned lenses for £200. Good choice of frames.
Either bring your prescription from UK, or as I did eyes were tested at Eye Clinic behind Pia Bella, at a cost.
I have worn them for three months and am very happy.

I did post earlier but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, me, hubby and several friends have had numerous specs from Akay Optic in the High Street Girne. They have a very good choice and we have never had any problems. Have also used the eye clinic at the back of Pia Bella, very thorough eye test. You can also bring prescription from UK and they will make up the specs to that. I have varifocals which have always been excellent. Prices might be a bit more than specsave, but very good quality. Any problems, they sort out immediately.

I have used Akay Optics in the high street for a few years now. I have a very strong prescription and buy varifocals. They are a lot cheaper than the UK and always get a good service. I have had my eyes tested at the eye clinic and also bought my prescription with me. If you get a free eye test obviously cheaper than Cyprus

I've always got mine back within 2 weeks. We are only ever over for 2 weeks at a time, so go to see them on the first day and get them by the time I go home

In case it wasnt clear Sandman, the opticians here arent one stop. You go to a clinic for test and prescription and then to an opticians shop for specs.

I have used Dr Hatice at the Eye Clinic for tests and two operations and can endorse recommendation.

I use Canada Optics for frames - more convenient for parking because you can use Lemar Carpark and had good service. They will also adjust existing frames without charge , and put new lenses in old frames .

Canada Optics (and I think Akay( have to send to Lefkoşa for lenses so time can be subject o other factors - including intervening weekends - but I have got them back within 5 working days. To be on safe side I suggest you see them as early as poss on your holiday - ideally at the start of the week.
