Can't uninstall a program - help needed

What do you do when a programme will not install? I'm trying to uninstall an old version of my Logitech Webcam which I have discovered is not compatible with Windows 7. When I go into programmes and highlight Logitech Webcam, then press uninstall, first a message comes on saying "preparing to uninstall" followed by another message from Logitech asking " DO YOU WANT TO ALLOW THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMME TO UPDATE SOFTWARE ON THIS COMPUTER" obviously the answer is NO, but it then goes round in circles and will not allow me to uninstall. I know its no point in updating software because Logitech themselves say that the webcam is only compatible with Vista, 2000 and XP, which is what I had when I bought the webcam. Help needed because I want to go ahead and INSTALL the latest Logitech webcam but I know there will be problems if I have two versions at odds with themselves.

Are you going to Control Panel - Progams - Unistall a Program as you don't say?

Try that route if you are not doing that already. SOMETIMES programmes that supersede earlier programmes as if you want to unistall the old programme before you install the new one.........just a thought.

I personally use Revo uninstaller Pro, but for a simple free alternative try "File Assassin"

Yes, let Logitech carry on, update will uninstall for you.
Trust me.

Carrfierbag, yes that was my first and obvious route but the thing is just thumbing its nose at me. I'll have a go madamx. Anything to get rid of it. I have completely dismantle the webcam, so do I have to have it inserted into a port for this to work? There is a super Logitech webcam going fairly cheap and compatible with Windows XP complete with disc and all instructions, if I can get it uninstalled!!
