Lapta Water Problem

I phoned the Belediye this morning as we hadn't had water for a number of days. The response was that 'we have a problem, Lapta's well is dry and they are boring it deeper just now but don't know when it will be finished' To the question 'will we get tankers of water?' the answer was 'no, the problem is to widespread to be able to give tankers of water'. Anyone know any more, or had water recently in Lapta/Karsiyaka area?

Hi we live in Karsiyaka and the water has gone off this morning, we thought we we're doing well too, so I suppose this is the start of restrictions every week now

Becker, I wouldn't be surprised if the Riverside complex picks up most of the slack in your area. I gather they have wells but whether they are sufficient only they and the Belediyer know!

Stellastar 1, we are in Karsiyaka, seaside near the abandoned army camp. Hubby was at belediye office in Lapta today and given the same story about a problem with the well. Funny that it seems to be affecting so few though!

Ah well (or not so well) further phone call to Belediye this morning armed with info that everyone else seems to be getting water, brings forth the fact that it is the low pressure caused by low water level that results in some areas not getting water as there is not enough pressure to get it to us. Obviously we are the end of the line! Pity the army camp down here is abandoned now, because when it was operational there was an endless supplky of water to it and we were on the same line. Que sera.............
Enjoy your water folks

You are not alone! We live in Catalkoy on the road up past the riding club. We get water two or three times a week and unless we go and complain then we can go up to 10 days without water! Have heard every excuse in the book over the last three years but never the one that is true! Simple fact is that when the guy on the moped comes up and turns on the valve we have water, the valve turns itself off automatically but needs manual intervention to turn it back on again. Too much effort required to either fix the valve or send the man until we complain!!! The Cyprus illness. Glad we have a well!

Yeah, water on today - Cypriot friend spoke to numerous people yesterday and suddenly the problem seems to be solved!
