Cruel and Heartless

Found in a street side waste bin a young 3 month black and tan puppy, just down from The Cabin, Lapta on Saturday afternoon. The owner of The Cabin has looked after it over the weekend and it was taken to the KAR centre this morning. As it is too young to tag and return, the puppy will now be kept in a compound for the rest of its life (unless of course someone takes a shine to it) Its a handsome Cross breed with GS in him and is going to be a big boy. Cruelty to animals alive and well as always!!

Sorry Philoz, looks like another "doggy" posting. I find it unbelievable that anyone can be so cruel. Even if it had been dumped at the restaurant, it would have been bad enough. Let's hope what goes round, comes round!!!

I walked my dog to the beach close to us last evening, and out in the middle of the road was a black and tan puppy, he came running around my legs and playing with my dog, until I noticed no collar, and this poor thing covered in fleas and ticks, all over his body, his ears were a dried crusty bloody mess. If I had my car with me I would have taken him, I hope to see him this evening and will take the car, however, how do I stand with the law? I want to take him and get him well, but like I said then what, do I put him back where I found him, do I report him as a lost dog to the police first, so that I can take care of him. Or do I just walk on by. It broke my heart to see this poor thing. I cant afford and don't want another dog, I have 2 dogs and feed and look after 20 plus cats, but how on earth can you be a pet lover and ignore all the terrible things that are happening to the animals especially in this heat. I also think that KAR are full to the gunnels and wont be able to take him if I do catch him.

All you need to do is go down into the old harbour and see the number of dogs that have been dumped, they have no tags and luckly some kind person's are leaving food and water for them under the bridge into the castle. I visit the old harbour every day due to construction on my old boat I sold.
I love all animals and find it very hard when I see these dogs, but I am now to old to start again with a new dog over the years we have had 5 dogs our last is going on 12 and needs a lot of care.
We will never change the local people's outlook on dogs.

I can't believe the amount of street dogs that I've seen just today as I came back from Ercan at 7am. The govt have a lot to answer for with this badly thought out microchipping law. My fears are that it will lead to a major cull of street dogs at some point.

I have walked the area a couple of times and driven around but haven't spotted him/her. I have some spot on and a paraband collar in case I see him/her.

Frontalman, as cruel as it sounds, I think your fears are founded.

I have found him and it turned out she is a she, she followed me home with very little encouragement, took her to Niazzi, and he first did a blood test for Lesh before he took it any further, she was/is a mess, she had a bath and has some bad injuries to her neck, so I cant put a collar on her yet, bathing her ears and wounds for a week and then taking her back for a check up, she has been wormed. She is approximately 3 months old, and considering what she must have been through is a calm natured puppy. I cant put a picture of her on yet, but I am hoping to rehome her when she is better.

Owl Lady thanks. I think that another thread ought to be started as this was really Sophies thread and I have taken it off her topic.
I will wait until the pup is fit and well and then start a new thread to find her a home, or if anyone is interested in her at the moment please pm me. As soon as I can, I will get some pictures of her.
