Does anyone know what time the parade starts?

With the winds as they are at present, they will have to have accurate corrections and get their flight paths correct! Very difficult it is not like flying a straight line!!

The military *parade* in Lefkoşa starts at 09:30 on the
Mağusa road ... probably not the sort of "parade" you mean though.
My guess is that
Kibkom members (at least some of them) might like to attend events in the Girne area... and if you're into military bands then you could be in for a treat - there are two of them performing by the
Dome Hotel - the first one, at 16:00, is the
Beşiktaş Municipality Military Band ... and the second one, at 17:00, is the TRNC one.
Another event that may be of interest to
Kibkom members is the
20 Temmuz Yol Koşusu, which is a run (I presume competitive) organised by the
TRNC Athletic Federation - it starts at 19:00 from
Çıkarma Plajı (the landing beach) and finishes by the
Dome Hotel in Girne.
If, as likely, the run is not of interest to you, then you still might want to bear it in mind so as to avoid being stuck in your cars ... waiting for the runners to pass: The report doesn't give the route, but one presumes it will be along the Karaoğlanoğlu road. So, if you're going to Girne to watch the air display, then maybe you should plan on waiting around for a couple of hours afterwards ... waiting for the roads to clear of cars ... and runners.

Thanks Ian for the info. The parade I am referring to is the one that runs along the sea front in Girne, and includes military and public serices. We always try to catch it but never get the timing right. Best to stand near Ataturk Square by the Dome to see it all, last year we were at Marti's and just caught the dust cart going past!! I think it may be about 3.00 but just wondered if anyone had the correct time so we can position ourselves a little better this year. Looking forward to the flyover but will probably have to come back later for that - don't want to hang around town too long in this heat.

Yes, that would seem best.
