I had knee surgery last year performed by Dr Genc his number is 05338608241 was more than happy with what was done.
Near East was the hospital i was taken to as an emergency earlier this year, the surgery i had appears to be have worked and been good, but was very very expensive, so not a place i think i would recommend, as I felt it was more about money than care.
Just a personal opinion.

My wife had a knee operation performed at Girne state hospital a couple of years ago. Great success, 1400TL at the time probably more now though.

I had a hip replacement 6 years ago at Cyprus Life Hospital. After years of crying with pain, limping and having to use a stick to walk am happy to say since the op have been pain free and no longer need a stick for walking. The surgeon was Dr.Tayfun Beyatli and I found him to be very caring and efficient, however did find that after care was lacking, apart from two visits to check wound and remove stitches that was it, just pay us the money and goodbye. Would definitely recommend follow up physio which was not offered or even recommended and which I did not have, this has left me with some mobility problems doing stairs but not too much of a problem for me as I live in a bungalow. Am sure if you are a reasonably active person before the op (I wasn't) then afterwards you would be fine. The other thing I should point out is that I had an insurance plan which was in conjunction with BRS/FMA Insurance and Cyprus Life Hospital (don't think this is still available). My husband and I took out the 'Gold' package which entitled the treatment to be 'half price' unfortunately when we came to pay, this was not the case. Apparently things like the actual prosthesis and drugs were not included in the price so if you are using insurance CHECK FIRST WHAT IS INCLUDED. The price we were quoted originally was £8,000 so expected to pay £4000 (the lira at the time was 2.45 to the £) the price they asked for was £7k so after a lot of haggling by FMA the hospital reluctantly agreed to £5.600 so still a lot more than we had expected to pay.

You should have bartered and got it done for £1.50. You are making it bad for the rest of us!
