Does anyone know where I can buy a good sturdy walking stick for a mature gent who needs some support ?
If possible in the North although could go over the South or indeed if anyone has one to sell .

The medical shops seem to have a good selection of sturdy sticks (metal and adjustable) Try the one that is on the RHS just before you get to the Bellapais lights. OR on the LHS just after you go through the Bellapais lights depending which way you approach it. Some of the places like 1001 etc have them, but I would suggest you go to the medical shop. (can't for the life of me think what is called though, sorry)

Sophie: Do you know if the medical shop stocks collapsable sticks (I mean ones that fold up when you want them to!). I need a stick for distances, rough ground and steps, but it can be an embarrassment (and a danger to others!) indoors and it would be nice to have one that could be folded up and put in a handbag.

btw Cheshire Homes loan sticks and other walking aids for a donation, if the need is temporary.

The medical shop is Gokmec or similar, opposite Dano bakery. At traffic lights heading towards the new harbour and Pia Bella hotel, it on the LHS.
