Doesn't everyone just wish Cancer would 'Burger Off!'
On Sunday the 10th August we will be raising as much money for Tulips Cancer Charity as we possibly can!
Fun and Games will start around 5pm (any earlier and we will all be burgered! (get it!? Oh well).
To start us off we will have some Horse Racing on the Big Screen, where there is copious amounts of money to be won! After this we will be holding a Burger Eating Competition! For those who dare to sign up, you will get 10 minutes to eat as many burgers as you can, bread n'all! (we will be an Adults and a Childs category, sponsorship forms are available, to sign up give us a ring.)
To end the fun we will have Live Music from 'Blue Tears' where dancing will be taking place!
We will have a Retro Burger Bar open in the restaurant, where you can build your own burgers.
We are also selling raffle tickets that are available from the Corner House or at Cafe Boss, Girne. The draw will be held on Sunday evening sometime between stuffing our faces and dancing the night away!

Jokes aside, this is all for a very good cause, and our main aim to make as much money for this fantastic charity and to increase awareness of such things..

I would just like to say we should never give up on beating cancer - afterall its not that long ago that infectious disease hospitals in the UK used to exist for the purpose of treating huge amounts of the population who contracted one or other of many common place infections - now they in the most, apart from very specialist diseases, are a thing of the past.
Thanks be to God or whichever Deity you choose! Keep The Faith and soldier on I say!

I think you could beat us, we could maybe eat 10 burgers between us (Carole and Sue) but certainly not alone!

Who supplies the indigestion tablets? I almost feel guilty that I am a vegetarian, as I can't compete, and I count calories, but I guess people like me should pay to stay away?

Or come and shoot everyone who tries to overeat in the name of charity. (with mjy camera, that is).

Seriously, will try to come and see all the generous folk who are prepared to stash away a few calories so that ~Tulips can stash away some funds. Of course it is the day of the Raft Race! Hope you get lots of support for what sounds like a real fun night.

We still have some spaces left for the burger eating competition. Call in the bar for a sponser form or give us a ring!
Raffle tickets are selling like hot cakes as we have some fantastic prizes! Your own personal chef for the evening, a trial dive donated by scuba cyprus, a case of efes donated by efes, a case of mixed wine donated by wines of the world, a meal for two in the Corner house and more great prizes!
All these donated kindly for such a worthy cause.

The big day has finally arrived! We are going to raise heaps and heaps of money and help kick cancer in the butt!
For our raffle prizes Tiga Trading have kindly donated a free Car Service, and Acapulco Hotel have donated a free Relaxation Massage!

We would like to thank everyone at the Cornerhouse who worked tirelessly throughout the evening, it was hot and with so many people it was even hotter!

Thank you also to everyone who took part either organising or running events, the musicians, the sponsors and a special thanks to everyone who attended because without you there would be no event!

It was a fabulous evening and we now wait for the Cornerhouse to get all the sponsor money in from the burger eating competition and then the results will be announced.

Once again, thank you to everyone involved in last nights event - it was a great evening.

All of us at the Corner House would like to thank everybody who make yesterdays events such a huge success.

Those who donated raffle prizes - Dennis the Chef, Tiga Trading, Acapulco Hotel, Scuba Cyprus, Mustafas Airport Transfers, Wines of the World, Efes, Cafe Boss and Efendi Restaurant. Im sure all the prizes won will be received and enjoyed with gratitude.

All the brave soles who entered the Burger Eating Competition, the winner ate 4 burgers in 10 minuets, and no exaggeration he was no bigger than a bean pole! If you check out our facebook page there will be some pictures to enjoy!

A big thanks to Gary Mac and his hard working team with the Horse Racing, your organisation made everything run smoothly and thoroughly enjoyable.

Thanks to Sarah and her little Helper for 'Guess the Sweets'! (although i'm sure there were more sweets and i actually won!)

To everyone who bought raffle tickets, donated, sponsored and who attended the evening, i think we can all agree it was a fantastic evening.

Not to forget our hard working staff, who finally got their feet up just after 2am.

And last but not least, the lovely Sue and Carole from Tulips, who helped us organize the event and guide is in the right direction.

So now for the good bit. The total raised for the evening (with a little bit added by us as i don't like odd numbers) was 4000tl!
Now for a little bar in Ozankoy, i think we can all agree that's a hefty sum raised! And if i do say so myself, we can all give ourselves a little pat on the back.

Well done to everyone involved, it was a great evening and a great amount raised.

This post brought a tear to my eyes. What a fantastic amount for such a worthy cause.

Probably, in common with most people, we all hope we will never need TULIPS, but so comforting to know they are there.
