Try Mr Pound in Girne.

I'm sure I saw them on a rack near the Arts and Crafts section.

I'm friends with the manager on Facebook....I'll ask him and get back to you if/when I get a reply.

They are strands of different coloured plastic that kids make bracelets with.

They can hand weave them into different colours and patterns.....keeps them amused for hours.

Without sounding the part pooper what is supposed to be a harmless band that gives lots of fun .
Two instances in UK paper recently as last week or two .

One child had gone to bed and then played about with them in bed ,fitted like you do on the finger tips and fell asleep .
He had to have his finger tips off.
And a freak accident as they ping ,and the lad pinged it accidentally into his brothers face causing him to be blind in one eye now.

So when we read them bits in the papers etc etc

Not a party pooper at all. Well done for highlighting what can be fun....... can also be dangerous.

I'm sure parents will be grateful to you and will supervise their children accordingly.

Kids should all be wrapped in cotton wool - not allowed outside - never play with pets - never run - never swim - never eat anything.....

Apparently I am now "with it!" My friends grand children had loom bands the other day, and made me a bracelet. Quite fascinated watching them, as instead of the specially provided pegs, they were using two pencils, said it was easier!!

I absolutely agree with Groucho. Let's not let children do anything for fear of the infinitesimal risk of injury. Did you know children can hang themselves with skipping ropes or have their eyes out with a yo-yo? Children have been smothered by cuddly toys and killed falling off tricycles. Lets go back to the good (safe?) old days.......Ian Brady....Polio.......Rickets etc.
